2.5 - 3 is fair on a Heinen deal. I think anything under 2.5 would be a team friendly contract.

For both parties, I feel like signing for 1 year at 2.5 is the best way to go to see if Heinen can build on this season and get a multi year contract on his next one. It gives the Bruins an out if Heinen doesn't meet expectations by not being saddled with a multi year deal.

Probably not tbh, the 63-13-74 line gets crazy hard defensive deployment. It basically takes all the minutes that the Bergeron line used to take against other teams top lines, and I don't think Heinen and Freddy can handle that kind of deployment consistently. Like 63-13-43 has played like 75 min together and they got kinda smoked at 5v5 and then broken up.
I was more referring to the power play time, but he would definitey see a bump 5v5 just playing with pastrnak

debrusk and heinen average basically the exact same amount of 5v5 time on the season at like 12.5 min a game. Agreed that Heinen should really be on PP2 by now though.

They can sign Heinen as long as they add one of Duhaime or Joshua or keep Maroon with one of them signed. Add Middleton on D too.

My deep rooted hate for Heinen has turned around, he will never be a favorite but he is useful and has been a bit physical, can't complain when you are paying him 775K a year, you start getting up into 3M plus that may be another story.

Him being a PTO matters nothing in the off-season.
Nobody wanted him this past off season. All of a sudden after a good year Gms are going to offer multi year multi million dollar deals for him at 29 years old? He’s played a lot of top 6 hockey as well this year, what team is going to want to put him to 6?

bro check out your post:like ratio, nobody has EVER flirted with a 1:3 before, you're comin' in here like eric lindros

His ability to win the puck along the boards is so much better than the younger version. Everything else looks the same, to me, he is just much more willing and smarter with his board play.

I have one of the worst post to like ratios on here. I feel like I need to change my content around more. I have a three point plan.

1. I need to post Gryz/Lindholm/Carlo suck in the GDT thread every time they make a mistake.
2. Any time a Bruins gets checked I need to complain about team toughness in the GDT
3. I need to develop a catch phrase like "Book it!"

I like your idea of Joshua; I think he'd be a useful player here and Sweeney has shown before he doesn't mind signing guys like him to plug into the roster.

Heinen -- Zacha -- Pasta

Marchand -- Frederic -- Geekie

Joshua -- Poitras -- Coyle

Duhaime -- Beecher -- Braz

I'd still prefer a more proven goal scorer than Heinen/Joshua heading this way but this is not a bad budget friendly lineup. Then they can make a splash for a top 4 LHD.

Remember, most of our posts came before the like feature was even a thing.

I like Joshua as well. Wanted him he before he signed in Vancouver. But man, I think he is getting PAID this summer. He's a bit of a unicorn. Looking at his hits and his production, he's in that Evander Kane/Tom Wilson stratosphere. Really in terms of hits + points, only JT Miller and Brady Tkachuk are in a tier above Kane/Wilson/Joshua this season.

Trent Frederic is right there with them. A few less hits ( 187 ) but a few more points than Joshua and Wilson.

I actually noticed that as well. Not far off in the points, little bit lower in hits. And a chance to improve upon those number next year. Bodes well for him in his next contract whether it's here or elsewhere. It's getting harder to find players like that teams will pony up in free agency for the few that become available (if they get that far).

Just can’t see how it’s affordable to have two guys like Freddy and Joshua at market rates without having to make some real sacrifice elsewhere. Gotta draft and develop those guys.

Absolutely. Trying to grab two players like that in free agency would cost too much. And they are the type of players you'd be cautious of giving too much term to (love Joshua but I aint giving him 7-8 years), so you would have to pay for it with higher AAVs.

Read alot here about adding a centre & Elias Lindholm name was mentioned a couple times but what ya'll think. He has fallen off a cliff the last while .I will be watching him come playoffs.

You are more cynical than I, sir.

That is something of a trick.

We'll see how it goes, Gordon,

M. ✌️🎈
No, I'm good with where they're at in the standings and although I'm keeping my expectations low, I think that they'll be more amped and prepared than last year.
If Montgomery hasn't learned by now what he did wrong....
Well, we'll see. Really looking forward to what Sweeney has in mind for this summer.

Same here, this year whatever we win is just a bonus, next year though could be very good, Bruins will have cap space and if they let the deadwood go, they could potentially sign some good players. The only guys I would re-sign depending on the money are : Heinen, DeBrusk, Swayman and Bogvist, the rest of the UFA group can go elsewhere.
