I'd let Heinen walk. He's definitely surpassed all my expectations when we signed him to the PTO but he's also playing for his next contract and I'd prefer to look for better options.

Pasta, Zacha, Coyle, Marchy, Freddy, Geekie, Beecher, Brazeau, Poitras, (most likely Debrusk), Lauko are all returning. I'd say decent chance Maroon comes back for a full season
JVR, Boqvist, Lucic most likely wont be back.
Merkulov and Lysell will be battling for a spot in the top 9.
We'll need to add some muscle especially if Maroon walks.

I hope the hell Looch comes back

Lohrei is the offense/transition guy in that slot for much cheaper, spend the money on nastier D instead
Well they better start getting him running that PP soon ,because McAvoy is not that guy.Somebody earlier posted he has 1 G 13 A in over 200 + pp mins.I would need to confirm that because it would mean he has 11 goals 5 on 5 barring any shorties or OT goals which would be impressive from backend.Still, I am not a fan of McAvoy running a pp.

If you go Lindholm-Mac, Lohrei-Carlo as your top 4 next season I honestly kinda think Zadorov could make some sense depending on the price. He's not a top 4 defenseman like some people seem to think, but I do think he's a solid #5 that will win his minutes pretty decisively if he gets third pair matchups. That's how it went for his time in Calgary anyway.

Really depends on the price though.

Agreed, I think McAvoy would be better on PP2

Currently I want Shattenkirk to run PP1 when he’s in the lineup

I think McAvoy could be a good PP guy if he was just willing to shoot from the point more. Gotta do it sometimes to keep teams honest and open up passing lanes, but just refuses despite having a good shot.

What makes you think Loheri will turn into a top 4 during the offseason, the last game he played in did not indicate to me that he is ready for that challenge.

That team is not as good as this years team....

Don’t need to use a defenseman to run the power play, Savard used to run it from the side boards. Just need to get a system that works with what we have and not keep running the same guys out that aren’t working.

At this point, I think Zadorov would actually be a great fit...

Ideally he is your #5 but he can take on some tougher minutes while Lohrei slowly develops and moves his way into the top four.
