Boston Bruins 2023-24 Roster and Salary Cap Discussion IVX-post TDL

I'd let Heinen walk. He's definitely surpassed all my expectations when we signed him to the PTO but he's also playing for his next contract and I'd prefer to look for better options.

Pasta, Zacha, Coyle, Marchy, Freddy, Geekie, Beecher, Brazeau, Poitras, (most likely Debrusk), Lauko are all returning. I'd say decent chance Maroon comes back for a full season
JVR, Boqvist, Lucic most likely wont be back.
Merkulov and Lysell will be battling for a spot in the top 9.
We'll need to add some muscle especially if Maroon walks.

I always liked Jake, but we know what he is....time for a change

Not sure about Lauko....I like his hustle but not seeing results.....4th line fill in
If Heinen is cheap enough keep as 13th F who can play anywhere, and we know he will be needed at some point

I can't even get to even. Every time I make any progress, I say something stupid and lose everything I've gained.

I say that I'd piss on Mario Tremblay's fingers if he was holding onto the edge of a cliff. Lots of likes. I'm hitting the big time. Wooooh Hoooooh

I say that Brian Burke makes me laugh, even if he is a cantankerous prick....... somehow Wally takes likes away. ( I think it's him, but he won't admit it...)

That's why I love you @NeelyDan

Others shy away from the fight but you wade right in and take no prisoners. I do like the anti-hero angle. Makes me feel all Austin Powers macho-like. :laugh:

My bigger concern is doing it from outside the organization. That to me is where they have been killed in the past, and that is where you can his losers syndrome and end up blowing your wad on a questionable player who blows up in your face

I am certainly not worried about resigning Heinen and ending up with a deal that kills you until you have to give up a #1 for someone to take him

You know with the cap going up and the money they have they do not need the Lysell's or Merkulov's and should be looking to upgrade center via free agency or trade, as well as wings.

Would like to see Lindholm added, with a 30 goal wing (Toffoli, Gentzel) and a gritty top 9 forward, Joshua being my choice but there are others, Joshua just seems like a perfect fit, would not mind seeing Bertuzzi come back either. I would bring Maroon back or Duhaime, I like both, Duhaime for his speed, Maroon for his leadership.

Agreed, I'd give him something like 4x2.5mil no question. He gets maybe a little less then he could probably get on the market, but it comes with term and stability which should be appealing for a guy that didn't have an NHL contract until like Halloween or whatever it was.

If you keep him with Zacha and Pasta, and those 3 have anywhere near the success they've had the past month, then you could have a 20 goal, 50 point winger signed for dirt cheap.

If you make a move for another top 6 forward to play with those other two, then you still have a really versatile top 9 forward that you can plug anywhere at a great price.
