I was never able to find a source that the AHL officially said no to us adding a 33rd team; can anyone link?

As much as I like Svech-Drury-Noesen, you could convince me to like Svech-Suzuki-Noesen a bit more...

When I watched Suzuki in preseason / prospect tournaments, he reminds me a lot of a lesser version of TT. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but maybe part of the reason Svech-Drury-Noesen works well is because they all are pretty good at hounding the puck and not afraid to mix it up in the dirty areas. They kinda feed off of each other.

Suzuki seems to me to be more cerebral and more of a perimeter player that picks his spots and doesn't hound the puck as well nor mix it up in the dirty areas. Not a bad thing as we need those guys too, I'm just unsure how well that would work on the line vs. Drury. Maybe it would be better, maybe not.

I could probably be convinced either way as well.

I feel like Svech and Noesen are exactly the types of wings you want with Suzuki. Smart, know how to get to open space to receive passes, able to scrap in corners to get Suzuki the puck.

So while I agree it would be a much different line, I do think it could work well. That said, I doubt they are benching Drury anytime soon. I don't think we will see Ponomarev or Suzuki in the NHL this year until injuries arise.

Maybe, but it's hard to say, particularly because he's a C. Line combos can be fickle. A center being a more perimeter player in the NHL is not that common, particularly with the style Carolina plays.

As we've seen though, Svech on any 4th line can make it work, but it won't matter. We know Svech won't be on the 4th line long so the chances of either a Svech-Drury-Noesen or a Svech-Suzuki-Noesen line is going to be slim, if not non-existent in the very near future.

Kiovunen and Trikizov have been on a streak lately.

Trikizov scored 2 goals in his first 7 games. He has scored 6 goals and 3 assists in his last 11.

Koivunen had 1 goal and an assist in his first 5. He has 12 in his last 15 to include to include 7 points in the last 5.
Without looking it up, he’s had 12 goals in the last 15 games? That’s impressive.

Pono loaned to Chicago……. interesting.

I guess he isn’t getting enough time in Tucson so he is assigned to Chicago.
