It's about who's in the power position. Clearly the NHL team is in the driver's seat, and that's clearly been proven with Chicago struggling so hard.
f*** the Wolves and their bush league bullshit. This whole thing had better end either with an ironclad deal that Chicago can't get out of for a generation, or a team that Dundon owns.

I think it's almost certainly ending with Dundon buying an AHL team. After having a couple of negotiations quickly go sour, I think he's tired of having AHL owners try to strong-arm him.

Just waiting for the next AHL franchise to decide to sell. If they aren't getting enough compensation from Florida to make up for the travel, it could be Charlotte.

Will these guys be guaranteed ice time in Chicago or is it at the discretion of the wolves?
Is AHL practice time better than ECHL game time?

Even if the Wolves guarantee something, I wouldn't trust them at all.

It is every man for himself in Chicago. They are trying to win and don't give a damn about any promises made to anyone.

If they are getting zero ice time, they will probably want out and Carolina will try to find a different assignment.

Now, the fact Chicago has been atrocious so far this season makes me think Carolina's prospects should be a major upgrade on what the Wolves have and they should be in line for good minutes.

Like you said, the wolves’ roster needs all the help it can get.

I find it hard to believe they would be so petty as to request or agree to take these guys if they weren’t going to play them. Ultimately, that franchise wants to win games.

I think they will play them for the moment. But if they make other moves or dont think a player is playing their system? Who knows.

Morrow will fit right in with the Canes PP. He had a wide open net after a good cross ice pass. Morrow missed the whole left side of the net that was wide open and hit the goalie with the puck

Well, he’s still young.

I’m sure once he gets some extended exposure to the Canes he’ll be missing the net altogether soon.

Lucas Mercuri scores with less than minute left to take the lead. Mercuri squeezed the puck along the boards and able to create a 4 on 1 break (the other defender pinched for some reason). Mercuri passed the puck in the ozone. He got the puck back in front of the net with a open net in front of him.

Umass won at providence. Providence is 5th OA

I didn’t look that hard.

The providence announcers have been very complimentary of Morrow and his growth on defense over his 3 years. Morrow’s skating is very apparent. He has made a couple of good plays with his stick to break up chances.
He dances, but last year he still looked like a Necas type that does his best work alone. He didn’t look used to having skill guys around him and not only didn’t look comfortable using teammates he didn’t seem to know where to go when they had the puck. Which adds up, he played such a low level longer than he should’ve he’s used to doing everything himself. He still had to learn how to insert himself as a support player on someone’s else’s play.

He had some poke checks and stood guys up along the boards but his reads were not unlike Hanifin at that age. No idea where to be in the defensive zone when his guy didn’t have the puck.

That’s what he needs work on to be an every player on defense in the NHL. His skating and puck handling were NHL level his freshman year. As Hanifin showed early it doesn’t matter how great you skate and handle the puck if you can’t defend. Tony too for that matter.

Can Dundon have an Richmond, VA AHL franchise if they fix the damn Richmond Coliseum situation (abandoned and boarded up since 2019)
Dude. There's no way that place can hold ECHL. Does the reefer even still work? It holds enough but the Biscuit in charlotte is in better shape. I mean I'd love to have an AHL team in Richmond, but that place aint it. The real deal is to buy the Checkers, get them out of the horrible ass Biscuit, and back to the Spectrum center.

I mean I'd love to have an AHL team close (I can't stand to go to Norfolk games) but I don't think Stoney's blunder can be the place.

It's a damn shame that Stoney is such an idiot (What do we expect, though, he's exactly what Richmond gets) that he has done nothing to help it.

Maine fought hard against top 10 opponent Boston U, losing 3-2. Nadeau got 1 secondary assist in the contest.

Wisconsin is currently losing to 10th ranked Sparty. Lucius get hurt during the Michigan series? he isnt listed today.

Blake is doing well against Miami. 4-2 UND lead and he has scored and had 2 assists so far.

UMASS plays providence at home tomorrow

Biscuit is 10x better for the Checkers than Spectrum...sight-lines, atmosphere, parking (free since COVID), cheaper for the team, they're the main tenant rather than the "side piece", actually get money from concessions which they never did at Spectrum, etc. You don't have the ability to do all the downtown stuff before/after, and it's a bit further and harder to get to, but everything else about Bojangles is better than Spectrum for the team.
