Even if it starts the first day of the season, that’s still only the 17th.

I honestly don’t know who to believe. We got nothing from the team which is very strange. But I think we all knew he would miss a little time. Just hope it’s not more than a couple of weeks (Retro active from the day he was injured)

Yeah, curious when team will say something if they do. Figured he would miss the first 2 with the back to back. Interesting that PuckPedia has it up and not CapFriendly regarding Carlsson at the moment

If he was put on IR as soon as he got injured is he available for game one if he’s healed by then? Or does he have to miss 7 days from season start?

I believe it starts today, since he was put on the Season opener IR, he’ll be eligible to play after next Tuesday…. Maybe we see him in Game 3 of the season on Thursday, Oct 19th?

Finally at least some acknowledgement of the Carlsson injury, although not much.

Leo Carlsson (lower-body, day-to-day) is currently on Injured Non-Roster while Alex Killorn (fractured finger, approximately 3-4 more weeks) on Injured Reserve.

At least we finally get to read the words day to day from an official source.

Can someone explain Carlson’s status? Is he ineligible for season opener? If so, what is the first game he is eligible?

Can’t play the first 2, would be eligible for the 3rd game if healthy Is how it reads.
  1. A club may place a player on the Injured Reserve List if such player is injured, disabled or ill and unable to perform his duties as a hockey player after having passed the Club's initial physical examination in that season.
  2. A player who has an injury that renders him physically unable to play for a minumum of seven days after that date of the injury can be placed on the Club's Injured Reserve List. Once a player is placed on the list, the Club may replace said player on its NHL roster with another player. All determinations that a player has suffered an injury warranting injured reserve status must be made by the Club's medical staff and in accordance with the Club's medical standards.
  3. A player placed on Injured Reserve is ineligible to compete in NHL games for a period of not less than seven days.
  4. Players on Injured Reserve may attend Club meetings and meals, travel with the Club and participate in practice sessions.

Is it confirmed he’s on Injured Reserve? He is listed as “Injured, Non-Roster” or whatever it is. Not sure if there is a difference between the two.
