Pitre is 1+2 after two periods tonight.

Kukkonen has two assists. Still looking for goal number one.

I'm just glad Kukkonen is on the scoreboard with assists. Just generate offense. Since Christmas break, Kukkonen's got 3 assists in two games. Keep piling up assists and maybe the goals will come.

He just moved from Center to Defense so I think at some point it would be good for him to settle. He's still perfectly able to play forward though. Has helped out upfront a few times during his time in Windsor.
Maybe we’ll try him at quarterback

Colangelo finished 1+2, third star of his game.

Ian Moore was not in the lineup for Harvard.

I was doing the prospect update tonight and I totally forgot that Western Michigan's (Colangelo) game this week against Western Ontario was an exhibition game. It doesn't count as an actual NCAA game because his stats showed he hasn't played a game since Jan 17th. The box score link doesn't even show up on College Hockey News site.

Still, it's good he was able to notch 3 points in a 6-2 win over W. Ontario.

Prospect Update, Jan 1: Juniors

Jan 1, Juniors.png

Terrible luck at the WJC.
- Luneau is out of the tourney due to illness
- Port is out due to injury in the exhibition games
- Terrance is the spare forward in case there's an injury

Shining bright like a Diamond offensively at the WJC
- Hot Rod is banging away points! Rodwin has factored in four out the Swiss' 11 goals with his 2g and 2a.

Scoring
- Pitre: 5 games, 3g + 4a, and +5 rating
- Smith: 3 games, 1g, -3 rating, and 1 F.A.F.O tussle
- Hvidston: 3 games, 1g + 4a, and +4 rating
- Sidorov: 3 games, 1g + 3a, and +1 rating

Prospect Update, Jan 1: NCAA

Jan 1, NCAA.png

- Kukkonen: 2 games, 0g + 3a, and +0 rating. Improved PPG rate from 0.37 to 0.52. Has yet to score a goal this season. Last year he netted 18 goals. He has to re-define his game from goal scorer to playmaker in order to improve his ppg rate. Early start after Christmas break could be promising.

- Perbix: He transferred from Western Michigan to Northern Michigan for his fifth season in the NCAA. It has turned out to be a terrible move for Perbix.

..... 2022-23 with W. Michigan: 39 games, 6g + 13a = 19 points, and +6 rating.

Prospect Update, Jan 1: Europe and NHL

Jan 1, Europe.png

- Sundsvik: 4 games, 0g + 2a, and +2 rating

- Buteyets: 2 VHL games held steady Sv% and GAA, but his first game in the KHL this season was abysmal.

- Clara: 3 games and finally back up to over .900 Sv%

Jan 1, NHL.png

- Carlsson injured his knee and is out 4-6 weeks.

- Minty: 6 games, 1g + 1a, and +2 rating

- Dostal: 3 games, has improved Sv% and GAA

- Groulx looks like a waiver candidate once Lundy or Carlsson returns. The AHL could use forwards because they were down like six forwards due to injury.

- Luneau: no update on his status after his illness put him into the hospital at the WJC. With Drysdale's return, there may not be room on the NHL roster for Luneau.

Prospect Update, Jan 1: AHL and ECHL

Jan 1, AHL ECHL.png

The injury list keeps growing and I can't keep up with who's injured. I think Perreault is injured too (see Gulls thread).

Notable scorers in the past two weeks:
- Nesterenko: 6 games, 1g + 2a, and +2 rating
- Lopina: 6 games, 3g + 1a, and a -1 rating
- Zellweger: 6 games, 2g + 1a, and a +1 rating
- Caulfield: 6 games, 1g + 3a, and +3 rating

- G Suchanek was sent back down to the ECHL.

- G Alexander got a game in what feels like forever in the ECHL and slightly improved his Sv% (from 0.843) and GAA (from 5.05).
