Pronman just posted redrafts for 2021 and 2022. Some notable stuff:
-Zellweger up to #13
-Hinds up to #40

-Minty up to #8, but still behind guys like Wright and Korchinski
-Slafkovsky is still #1, which is shocking
-Luneau only moves up to #35. At least Hutson only moved up to 25
I know I'm kinda using the blink theory but how can anyone watch Wright and Mintyukov and not walk away feeling like Minty is more talented, what am I missing?

During the prospect polls I shared that I was very low on Colangelo and where he is currently on his development path. However, I noted that his new school Western Michigan has become a powerhouse at developing power forwards and that they could really bring his stock back up to where it should be. Obviously it’s early, but the early signs have been promising so far, and that gets me excited to see how his year goes.
Under former coach Andy Murray the Western program was run a lot like a professional club and developed a reputation for allowing players to refine their games and prepare for careers in pro hockey.

That has continued under the staff of current coach Pat Ferschweiler.

I know some people are iffy on Coleangelo, but have there been signs of this version of him during the rookie camp?

I often wonder if he does end up getting a contract with us or not

  • Colangelo's career after being drafted has been a rocky one.
    • D+1: Colangelo was injured most of the season and played only 8 games, earning 3 points with a -3 rating.
    • D+2: Healthy, Colangelo showed the promise the Ducks' scouts saw in him by earned 27 points in 29 games and was a +8 rating.
    • D+3: Healthy, but not quite the same. He wasn't on the same projected lines from his D+2 season, essentially not put in a position to succeed. Colangelo scored 24 points in 35 games with a -4 rating. He was not happy with the situation with Northeastern and transferred out.
    • Dev camp: Colangelo looked like a man on a mission out on the ice. Very noticeable and scoring.
    • D+4 (2023-24): Apparently, Colangelo made the correct move to get out of Northeastern. He has earned 7 points in 4 games with a +4 rating. In his last game played, he scored a hat trick. His 5 goals has him tied for 3rd overall in the NCAA early this season. The high goal scorer has 7 goals.

IMO, Colangelo's D+2 season gave me great hope of what Colangelo could bring offensively now that he was finally healthy. He had a blip between his D+2 to now. Let's hope he continues this positive trend with his new team b/c he could eventually help the Ducks out in the middle-6 a couple or few years from now. A 6'2, 209 lbs power forward RW who likes scoring goals? Yes, please! But yeah... caution is needed since his trajectory has been wonky since being drafted.

I hope Colangelo can put it all together and get a contract. I had written him off since he hasn't been producing but this season it looks like its all clicking for him.
