That was in his D-1 season, which is why he fell in the draft. I thought this past season should had largely erased those concerns but what do I knowDidn't he have a hip or knee injury that added to the concern?

Ducks rookie camp opens two weeks from tomorrow. the season is finally upon us.
Outside of Carlsson there isn't much there.
Good thing we have Zegras, McTavish, and Terry already in the NHL and contributing. We certainly need more talent, but it's not all bad and gloomy.Outside of Carlsson there isn't much there.

I, for one, am fairly excited about Myatovic and Hvidston as well that are not in the article. They're likely to be complimentary players in top6 * at best * even if they pan out tho, but still. I think fairly good material for depth of the future roster.
Some CHL preseason action starting up.
No love for Hinds defensive dman of the year
I mean that award doesn’t exactly have a high track record of nhl players (now idk how many of these guys are draft year +1 and went almost a ppg)No love for Hinds defensive dman of the year

Letang and savard are really the only 2 with any sort of nhl impact.

Nathan Saunders name sounded familiar to me. Looking things up, he was drafted by the Ducks in the 4th round of the 2003 draft. He's a straight defensive D.

Yup. Guess hyping up Def D-man of the year is meh. Let's hope Hinds can break the trend like Savard and Letang!
When I get home, I’ll try to figure out their ages when they won the award…. I imagine majority of winners are d+2 or 3…. Might narrow down his achievement if he’s 1 of a few that were in their d+1.
Don’t get me wrong I still have high hopes for him…. I just don’t think that award will generate hype for fans outside of Anaheim or his Jr team
Your right forgot this was his d+2This past season was Hinds' D+2 season.
D+0: drafted in 2021
D+1: 2021-22
D+2: 2022-23
I tried doing their season with respect to their draft year, but it became annoying trying to count backwards, especially when they stopped playing hockey early in their career. Out of the 12 that were easy to identify: 3 were D+1, 7 were D+2 (including Hinds), and 1 was D+3.
