Oz has been generally been solid for the Wranglers, tonight he was poor though. That was a fun hockey game, back and forth like crazy. Kerins looks like a good little player.
Oesterle stinks
They did well without wolfAny reason that the Flames AHL program has improved so much? I thought they’d experience a dip with Mitch Love gone. But they’re still doing insanely well. Is it all Wolf?
Nope, not all Wolf. Before their recalls, Zary & Pospisil were scoring over a PPG, since being sent down, Coronato and Hunt have been scoring at a PPG, Ben Jones has taken a step forward offensively, as has Klapka. Kerins has been scoring at near a PPG since getting the chance to play. Poirier was nearly 2 PPG when her got injured, DeSimone had 4 in 6 before getting the call to the big club. Solo has been awesome defensively and IMO Kuz, & Poolman have taken steps forward defensively as well. They are also one of the top PKs in the AHL, killing at over an 85% clip despite being top 5 in time shorthanded.Any reason that the Flames AHL program has improved so much? Wranglers debuted their new Outlaw Blasty jerseys, pretty nice although I'm sure @Dube Dube Doo would disagree
They also beat the Abbotsford Canucks 3-1
Wolf was terrific, Coronato G & A, Kerins looked really good also had a G called off
Wolf is our best prospect.Matt Coronato up to 8 goals and 10 assists for 18 points in his first 14 games of AHL action. Zary is doing impressive things currently, but Coronato is still our best prospect by far.
I usually exclude goalies as pretty much their own category. Way too much voodoo there, and hard to assess impact relative to other positions. Honzek has the biggest boom potential as a prospect, but also has a long way to go and arguably the lowest floor. As for Pelletier and Zary, none of them have touched the point totals Coronato is getting right now in the AHL, and Coronato is doing it as the youngest and with the worst supporting forwards out of their times in the AHL. Plus put that all aside, Coronato’s goal scoring by itself puts him on a tier of his own.Wolf is our best prospect.
And I wouldn't even say Coronato is the best forward prospect by far, I think Honzek is much closer than some think and Pelletier IMO is still above Zary too.
Poirier is also up there.
I thought the site was glitching for a second.Adam Cracknell with a pretty nifty goal yesterday where does he rank?
Pelletier was at times well over a PPG lastyear, and Zary had a better PPG rate than Coronato already this year. Before you say only 6 games, 14 is not much better. Also who knows where Poirier would be at if he didn't get hurt.I usually exclude goalies as pretty much their own category. Right now I’d put Coronato on top, with the other 3 all having arguments for the 2 spot (Honzek’s ceiling, Zary’s massive step he took this year, Pelletier’s history of performance plus two way play).
Just ahead of Brandon HickeyAdam Cracknell with a pretty nifty goal yesterday where does he rank?
Ages are a large factor. At the same point in development, Pelletier had 62 points in 66 games riding shotgun with Phillips who was a pretty scary AHL player in his own right. Zary had 58 in 72. He did it with less help than Pelletier, but due to a late birthday it was also his second year in the A. Poirier comes with some massive red flags the others don’t, he’s an exciting prospect but the warts are bad.Pelletier was at times well over a PPG lastyear, and Zary had a better PPG rate than Coronato already this year. It's Ok to like Coronato, but if you're going to claim "best prospect by far" you better expect some replies.
Just ahead of Brandon Hickey
Yes, Coronato was recalled this morningWranglers beat the Moose 6-2 lastnight, Kerins joins the PPG club by going 2+1.
Coronato did not play (was he called up?). Getting lite on F bodies, so dressed 7 DMen.
Gallant (susp), Sutter and Bishop all out too.
