There is really no point on focusing on him until there is some sustained level of play to justify it.

Guys don't make the show all the time, and I am sure it has been incredibly hard on him to be injured so much, but unless he makes a big push, he won't be an Ottawa Senator. Too many guys to pass already and more coming.

Roster Notes:

Belleville defenceman Max Guenette was recalled to Ottawa on an emergency basis and dressed for the NHL Senators in their game against Anaheim last night, but that’s been the only transaction since earlier in the week. Full lineup details, including tonight’s alignment, will be available prior to puck drop.

Who to Watch:

Sens forward Rourke Chartier was pivotal in Belleville’s win over Syracuse earlier this weekend, scoring twice and adding an assist. Fellow recent NHL returnee Zack MacEwen had a pair of goals for himself on Saturday as well and has scored four times in five games for Belleville this season. Power forward Jiri Smejkal is on a three game point streak (three goals, two assists) coming into tonight’s game, while four Senators have points in back-to-back games including Dillon Heatherington, Angus Crookshank, Garrett Pilon, and rookie Oskar Pettersson.

Since the Marlies have recorded back-to-back losses, there are no Toronto players on significant point streaks coming into tonight’s contest. However, Ryan Tverberg (four goals, two assists), and Kieffer Bellows (two goals, four assists) have been standouts for the Marlies in the season series, each recording six points in five games against Belleville this season.

At the rink:

With a large crowd expected, fans are encouraged to arrive early to CAA Arena tonight. Fans will also be able to take advantage of the Sens “Buy More Save More” event which begins tonight, by either stopping by The Locker Room Store, the Gate 2 Merchandise Kiosk, shopping from your seat via the Sens online store.

Follow the action:

Tonight’s game starts at 7:00 p.m. (ET) and can be seen on AHL TV and heard on the Belleville Sens Entertainment Network.

Roster Notes:

Defenceman Max Guenette was returned from a brief recall to the NHL ahead of last night’s game but didn’t dress for Belleville against the Marlies. Head Coach Dave Bell will have some lineup decisions to make ahead of tonight’s game as well, with the club still carrying more than six veteran players. Full lineup details, including tonight’s alignment, will be available ahead of puck drop.

Who to Watch:

All-Star forward Angus Crookshank is finding his groove again, registering six points over his last three games (two goals, four assists), including the game-tying goal in the third period last night. Defenceman Jacob Larsson (two assists) and forward Rourke Chartier (three goals, one assist) each have points in back-to-back games, while goaltender Mads Sogaard has won six of his last seven starts.

Three Comets have points in back-to-back games including Joe Gambardella (two assists), Kyle Criscuolo (one goal, one assist), and Xavier Parent (one goal, one assist). Utica points leader Graeme Clarke (18 goals, 17 assists) had four shots in the Comet’s last game and has five points (three goals, two assists) in four games against the Senators this season.
