Oskar Petersson had a tidy debut yesterday. Nothing spectacular but he played responsibly and had a few nice offensive plays, seemed to fit in well and looked comfortable right away. Looked good off the puck. Had a couple rushes down the wing that showed off his game which seems to be marked by a powerful stride, crossing the neutral zone with speed and getting the puck to the net sort of style. Looked similar to Drake in his stride, power, build and skating posture. Had one move on a rush that showed slick hands at speed.

He was interviewed at the intermission and said he thinks his game will be well suited to the more physical NA style. Said he is a power forward that plays a N-S game. Said he models his game after Patrick Hornquist.

Roster Notes:

There were no transactions for the Senators since yesterday’s game. Forwards Phil Daoust, Cole Reinhardt, Roby Jarventie and defenceman Max Guenette all remain on the injured list. Full lineup details, including tonight’s alignment, will be available prior to puck drop.

Who to Watch:

Egor Sokolov has been Belleville’s top point-getter against the Crunch this season, picking up three assists over two games. Angus Crookshank and Matt Highmore have each tallied a goal and an assist against Syracuse this season, with both of Highmore’s points coming in last night’s win. Lassi Thomson’s goal last night made him the new franchise leader in points by a defenceman (84).

Crunch forward Felix Robert has points in back-to-back games, including an assist last night. He’s been one of the Crunch’s most consistent offensive players of late, picking up a point in seven of his last 10 games played.

Follow the action:

Tonight’s game starts at 7:00 p.m. (ET) and can be seen on AHL TV and heard on the Belleville Sens Entertainment Network.

That video cuts out right before Crookshank baseball swings his stick into the glass which is what he got the misconduct for. Must have been a couple fans there he didn't like the antics of.

Really impressive to see them hold the puck for the entire 4 minutes leading up to that though and nice goal by Crooker.

That team has needed Sogaard and will be much better with Chartier in the lineup and with Highmore, Guenette and Jarventie back, whenever that is.

Roster Notes:

There were no transactions for the Senators over the All-Star break, with Rourke Chartier expected to make his AHL season debut for Belleville, after being returned from Ottawa prior to the break. Full lineup details and an update on players who were listed as injured prior to the break will be available ahead of puck drop tonight.

Who to Watch:

Belleville All-Star Angus Crookshank turned heads last weekend, scoring Friday, netting the overtime winner Saturday and notching a pair of goals at the AHL All-Star Classic presented by Tech CU. He brings a three-game point streak into tonight’s contest. Power forward Jiri Smejkal was also a key to the Sens offence in Saturday’s win. The big man from Czechia recorded his first career three-point night at Upstate Medical University Arena, finding the net twice and adding a helper. It was Smejkal’s third two-goal game of the season.

Comets forward Graeme Clarke was also in San Jose this past weekend, representing Utica at the AHL All-Star Classic presented by Tech CU, playing alongside Belleville’s Crookshank and other North Division rivals. Clarke sits among the league leaders in game-winning goals (six) and has four points against Belleville (two goals, two assists) in two games so far this season. Goaltender Isaac Poulter has also picked up three straight wins and stopped 27 of 32 shots in his last appearance against Toronto last weekend.

At the rink:

It’s Super Friday at CAA Arena tonight, with football theming, games, and activations throughout the night. The first 1,500 fans will receive a free Belleville Sens mini foam football to take home, with tailgate food specials also available. Fans are also encouraged to wear their favourite sports jersey and stop by guest services, inside Gate 2, to enter our door prize jaw for a chance to win Belleville Sens team-signed merchandise, Ottawa Senators signed merchandise and other prizes.
