Roster Notes:

As of this morning there have been no further transactions for the Belleville Sens. Their last roster move was on January 16, 2024, when Tarun Fizer was recalled from the Club’s ECHL affiliate in Allen Texas . The injured list also remains the same, with forwards Phil Daoust, Cole Reinhardt, Graham McPhee and Roby Jarventie still unavailable. Full lineup information, including tonight’s alignment, will be available before the puck drop.

Who to Watch:

All-Star forward Angus Crookshank has been consistent offensively for Belleville over the past week, notching points in three consecutive games (one goal, two assists). Crookshank scored a power play goal on Wednesday in Milwaukee and had five shots on net. Veteran forwards Garrett Pilon and Matt Highmore have also been getting in on the offence lately, with points in back-to-back games. Highmore scored Wednesday and has points in three of his last four contests, while Pilon had an assist in Milwaukee and has found the scoresheet in both games since a minor layoff due to injury.

With their club on a streak, naturally, so are a handful of players from Grand Rapids. Most notably, wingers Jonatan Berggren and Dominik Shine are on four-game point streaks, each with two goals and two assists over that stretch. Reigning Howies Hockey Tape/AHL Player of the Week Marco Kasper was scoreless on Wednesday in Grand Rapids’ win over Rockford but had five points over a two-game trip to Manitoba last weekend.

Follow the action:

Today’s game starts at 7:00 p.m. (ET) and can be seen on AHL TV and heard on the Belleville Sens Entertainment Network.

I expect that Ostapchuk C/LW, Kleven LD & maybe Guennette should challenge for a spot in Ottawa next season.

Roster Notes:

The Belleville roster continues to hold steady, but another name was added to the injured list, as defenceman Max Guenette did not play. He joins Phil Daoust, Cole Reinhardt, Graham McPhee and Roby Jarventie in the group of Senators not yet cleared to play. Full lineup information, including tonight’s alignment, will be available before the puck drop.

Who to Watch:

Egor Sokolov has been living up to his “Shark” moniker of late, peppering opposing goaltenders with 19 shots over the last four games. Rookie forward Tyler Boucher has also been making himself noticed, by scoring a late game-tying goal on Wednesday in Milwaukee and showing a physical edge to his game.

Griffins forwards Austin Czarnik and Jonatan Berggren extended their respective point streaks to five games last night. Bergren scored twice and added an assist, while Czarnik registered a helper and three shots on goal. Rookie winger Carter Mazur also had a goal and an assist last night.

1-6-1 since Sogaard was recalled. In that time Mandolese and Merilainen have combined to post an .872 SV%.

Belleville now out of a playoff position by point percentage.

Interesting fight at the end of the game.

Big scrum at centre after the GR empty net goal and out of it Crookshank fired a loose GR helmet away with his stick which drew a mob. He got swarmed and dropped the gloves and ended up paired up with Edvinsson who didn't want to fight. Crookshank pushed the issue by firing two wide open punches right on Edvinsson's chin while he had his hands down. They didn't even phase him, it was like a kid punching up at a statue but eventually Edvinsson had enough and ragdolled Crookshank to the ground. It was a bit of cartoon sequence with the much smaller Crookshank going after the massive Edvinsson.

Lots of highlights for Crookshank that game, not sure if that was one of them though....

Crookshank and Greig on a line together will cause Montreal fans to call the cops, it's just a matter of time.

I was disappointed watching him during the development camp, he seemed too reserved & isn't agressive enough or hit enough or does much to get noticed. It will be interesting to see him in Belleville to see how he is progressing, but based on what I saw at the DC he has some work to do & he was one of the guys I liked the previous yr at camp.

He tweeted this today. I think it is fair to assume that he likes to play rough.
