I'm inclined to agree with @Gecklund, but let's look at the draft class as a whole. How are the 2017-2020 draft classes doing compared to others? How are they doing when it comes to "expectations"?
My intuition is that the 2018 class has poor results. Besides Miller and Durzi, I can't think of a single player drafted after Merkley who is a top-half-of-the-lineup player.
I can't think of a single "late-round" gem (theoretically the players who would benefit most from development) from the 2019 draft. I think Kaliyev was drafted late, but it was a shock that he fell that much...
2017 had Robertson and Batherson as late-round gems (Robertson in the early 2nd IIRC), but compare that to 2016 (DeBrincat, Fox, Bratt, Girard, Hagel...)
