Great, watch the sharks trade a goalie to another division rival only to have them lead said rival to a cup.
Eh couldn't get much worse then last time, might as well take the pick, not like the goalie will be there by the time it matters to us

I’d love to get a 1st for Ferraro, 3rds for Kahkonen, Duclair and Barbie and a 4th for Hoffman but would settle for two 2nds for Ferraro and 4ths/5ths for the rest.

Mukhamadullin and Gawanke deserve NHL time along with Gushchin and Cardwell up front.

I still like the idea of trading NJ’s 2nd and Bordeleau for Dante Fabbro, either at the deadline or draft.
At this point, a first would be the only thing I'd be willing to take for Ferraro even if that includes us adding a later round pick.

If the best pick you can get for Duclair is a 3rd I think the team should just try to keep and resign him. We need some skilled players to be on the team to help the kids develop and have someone to pass to. Duclair is a good locker room guy too. If a team offers a 2nd I'd probably trade Duclair.

Also, I look at the Calgary Flames right now and they remind of the Sharks of a few years ago. A core that never won a cup and looks to be cooked while having several bloated long term contracts on the books that look untradeable. Will be interesting to see how they navigate the situation.

I initially wanted to keep Duclair too but he’s been pretty disappointing on the ice. I’d rather spend that money going after an impact player like Hanifin in free agency.

Confirmed by his ex wife, Vlasic just finalized a divorce. Reddit is a gossip factory and apparently she has been posting acerbic things for months. Without speculating on the reasons, it'll be interesting to see whether/how he responds. Her IG post on the divorce implied that she has the dogs... Will that break him or will he have a fire lit under him or does it not matter because he's washed? We will see.

An "early" retirement to spend time with the dogs would be nice.

after losing half his money, he aint retiring
This is probably very true. Likely outcome is either plugging away with a lot of healthy scratches, LTIR retirement, or a buyout this summer. Given our cap situation the buyout may not be necessary, if he is OK being scratched constantly and if we aren't prioritizing giving youngsters a shot at the 7-8 D slots. Murky and getting murkier.

We aren't in a cap situation, unless you are meaning cap basement but even then we are not in a cap situation. Basement will be close to 63 million, we already have 50 million spent towards next season with the need to sign 10+ players still.

Yes, I meant basement, but I haven't paid nearly as much attention so I'll take your word for it!

Duclair for a pick(s) would be ideal. Can‘t really see a contending team wanting to part with a promising prospect. If we can get a 2nd and a B level prospect I think that’s a W.

He had no dogs covid year. (Wife and dogs were in Canada.)

He could probably find "his" dog as these three seem to be his ex-wife's.

Dreger reporting the Oilers might try to shed Campbell’s contract using Broberg.

What would you need them to add to make a Campbell+Broberg for Kahkonen+Rutta trade work? I don’t think we’re getting their 1st on top of Broberg.

I would say Broberg + Campbell are a neutral or even net negative asset so if they want Kahkonen too they would need to add.

I guess they may not even want a goalie back since it would mean putting Pickard, who is playing reasonably well, on waivers. So it could just be Campbell+Broberg for Rutta and some worthless contract (Mitchell Russell?) to balance the contract slots.

I don't see Broberg as a significant asset if they are trying to dump Campbell's contract. Broberg is a throwin piece in a trade with Campbell. I'd insist on the 1st or they're not going to dump campbell.

Bouchard, Broberg, Campbell and a first for Ferraro, Blackwood and Vlasic.
