I don’t know if monitor is the right word but I have paid attention to deadline trades for decades. I expect Ceci to get more than a 2nd too.Have you ever monitored the rental goalie market before? Getting a 2nd was a massive win for Grier.

If nothing else, he'll help us get another top-3 pick, but this is probably more a move to get Askarov more NHL time.In over twenty years I don't think I've hated an Avalanche player as much as I hated Fourgiev. Good luck lads, you'll need it.
He’s going to be waived/assigned to the Cuda. This is giving Askarov a chance to run off with the starting role.
We have Askarov. Don't need your Georgiev good luck.
Ryan Miller got a 1st 11 years ago, but that was a perennial Vezina candidate and not a run-of-the-mill starter/platoon goalieWhen was the last time a pending UFA goaltender got anything more than a 2nd? Seriously.
I'm sorry to break it to you but there's really no schadenfreude for you to enjoy here. SJ is a tanking team who wants to see our young skaters improve. Nobody was mad at Blackwood when he cost us a game where we scored 3 goals and allowed 11 shots against Ottawa and nobody is going to be mad at Georgiev if he does play for the team and improves our draft position by costing us games where our young guys probably deserve to win. Acquiring him is a win-win situation for us.
I like him. He's been better as the season's gone on and he's got more used to playing in the NHL, I think he peaks as a middle six option but his biggest loss to our fully healthy lineup is probably his cap hit.I think it’s fairly clear Georgiev is going to be waived and help on the Cuda and Asky is coming up.
Can you tell us about Kovalenko?
HOW DO YOU KNOW HE ISN'T CLAI....I think it’s fairly clear Georgiev is going to be waived and help on the Cuda and Asky is coming up.
I have nothing against the Sharks I'm just so happy we're finally rid of him. Enjoy Kovalenko, he should do well for you.I'm sorry to break it to you but there's really no schadenfreude for you to enjoy here. SJ is a tanking team who wants to see our young skaters improve. I couldn't even say that with a straight face.
Honestly, I'd rather just keep the Cuda team together. This trade tells me Grier doesn't want the team to overachieve this year and in that case he probably also wants the Cuda to thrive with Askarov still in net.
I know nothing about Kovalenko beyond the numbers, but it looks like he's been serviceable as a 4th liner. Just don't expect him to score.

I have to believe we waive Georgiev and bring Asky up. I don't think Grier would want to take that step back on our goaltending. Vanecek has looked pretty awful of late. The next move will be telling
If we run Vanecek/Georgiev we are GUNNING for the #1 pick
If we call up Askarov and waive Georgiev then they're still trying to improve but needed the draft pick in the deal and weren't going to re-sign Blackwood
Then you're just choosing to not use precedent from past years then to gauge your return expectations. Ryan Miller is the only rental goalie to fetch a 1st round pick in a decade.I don’t know if monitor is the right word but I have paid attention to deadline trades for decades. I expect Ceci to get more than a 2nd too.
I certainly hope you're right, but I will eat my hat if Ceci lands more than a 2nd at the deadline.I don’t know if monitor is the right word but I have paid attention to deadline trades for decades. I expect Ceci to get more than a 2nd too.
He is Andreis son, not as talentedAnyone know anything about Kovalenko?
Colorado’s second is practically a 3rd rounderHave you ever monitored the rental goalie market before? Getting a 2nd was a massive win for Grier.
You need to post pictures.I certainly hope you're right, but I will eat my hat if Ceci lands more than a 2nd at the deadline.
God I hope he starts. I want SchaeferIn over twenty years I don't think I've hated an Avalanche player as much as I hated Fourgiev. Good luck lads, you'll need it.
Colorado isn't that level of team right now, they're still coasting on reputation but 2022 was a salary cap apocalypse team that HAD to win that year, they just happened to pull it off, they still haven't had a real second line since Kadri walked and Landeskog got injuredColorado’s second is practically a 3rd rounder
That’s fair however it seems as long as Blackwood is giving up 4 or less on a nightly basis the AV’s have the fire power to get the winsColorado isn't that level of team right now, they're still coasting on reputation but 2022 was a salary cap apocalypse team that HAD to win that year, they just happened to pull it off, they still haven't had a real second line since Kadri walked and Landeskog got injured
Blackwood makes them better, but I still don't think they're a lock for a conference finals berth
Again, what rental goalie got a 1st rounder midseason other than Ryan Miller in 2014? I don't care how you want to semantic the pick. It's the best haul we could have hoped to get for a rental goalie that was non-tendered by his former team 18 months ago.He is Andreis son, not as talented

We have lives outside this board.Mods asleep?
Nailed it.Well, we're about to see whether he agrees with me on Blackwood.
