I'm thinking of something orange. Give up? It's an orange.

$92M and $11.5M/year holy shit.

Price- $10.5
Bob- $10
Vasi- $9.5
Helleybuck- $8.5

He’s great in the playoffs, but it’s not like he gets the cup tax Vasi earned. He’s good enough to steal 2/4 series, but they’re going to struggle to have the skaters win the other two.

Elite PMD, great wingers, a $11.5M goalie, and meh centers. Not the way I’d build my cup contender.

They may prioritize him over Miller annd Kaako, but Cuylle would be a good 2nd round pick tier offer sheet target. He’d be a real nice complimentary power forward for Smith and Granny. Can’t see the Rangers in a position to spend $4-5M on a 22 year old middle six forward.

Eklund-Celebrini-Zetts/Tofolli
Cuylle-Granny-Smith
Koistin/Prospect-Wenny-Zetts/Tofolli
Goody-Delly-Kunin/Cards
Gundstrom
Cullye is a really interesting OS target, I'd definitely be down to give up a 2nd for him.

I'm exceptionally curious how their cap structure is going to look this summer. If they find a taker for Kreider (likely) or Zibanejad (doubtful) then that would give them plenty of space. I'm really curious what Miller, Kakko, and Jones can land as RFAs. Then they have to either re-sign Lindgren or replace him, and bring in a bottom pairing RD to replace Trouba. Will Filip Chytil stay healthy?

If they look like they might get squeezed, I'd toss an OS at the maximum of the 2nd round pick bracket at Cullye. Wonder if Grier would do that to his buddy Drury though.

Seems like Trouba going to Anaheim makes Cam Fowler available. He'd be an improvement over Ferraro if they can make something happen.

Walman-Ceci
Fowler-Rutta/Thompson
Ferraro/Thrun/Mukhamadullin-Liljegren

Would want to upgrade on that Rutta/Thompson spot but it's also just not something I'd expect Grier to do because it doesn't seem like we'd have a good partner for him right now and it's already pretty crowded with bodies.

I accidentally opened this thread on the first page and scrolled through for fun and spotted this. @Gecklund that’s some pretty good fortune telling (thank God it wasn’t Jiricek but still). What’s your prediction this summer?!
i haven’t had a chance to do proper research for this draft. With the Sharks being actually fun to watch and work being absolutely batshit crazy 100% of the time, haven’t been able to fully watch.

With that said I have general predictions. I think Sharks sadly miss out of Schaefer without lottery luck. To me he’s a lock to go top 3 with Hagens and Martone and I think we pick at 5-7. I don’t love any defenseman in that range but I do like Frondell, Eklund, and McQueen in that range. All of which would be welcome additions to our forward prospect pool.

I also have a feeling we pick up another first and do some voodoo magic to make it high enough to take Hensler.

The Sharks are about the 3rd worst record as of today, but still fun and exciting to watch. Maybe they get another top 3 pick.

Based on the Lund, Halt, Cherny, Musty and Bystedt picks it’s clear Grier values size only after elite skill (Smith, Celebrini) in the top rounds. Given all 5 picks between 20-40 have been 6’2 forwards can’t imagine Grier wouldn’t value a proven 6’4 middle 6 forward at a 32-45 pick, especially given he’d be only a year older than Eklund. Get his 23-28 years for $5M or so a year? Yes please. I agree Kreider probably moves first; and if they open that space Cuylle likely stays. Speaking of; I’d love Kreider. His contract ends the year Celly, Smith, and Askarov are up for new deals.

Grier has said he would do an offer sheet if it improves the team, I’d hope that doesn’t change when it’s one of his buddies.

Moving 2nds for 23-year old proven players makes a ton of sense tor our phase in the rebuild. Especially if they are RHD or power forwards.

Yeah I think that starting this summer, it's time to get aggressive acquiring young supporting players by trade or by OS. I wouldn't trade our 2026 1st without top-3 protection (so no high OS) but yeah, let's go get some players. I want to contend for the playoffs next season.

wonder if Montreal would be interested in Bords/Gush for a Barron? I think we need to move some of these FWD guys who likely dont fit for dmen project for the 4-6 range who are still young but have proven they are close to the NHL and hope one hits.

We've been able to claim/ acquire cheaply young fwds who have found a spot, doesnt have to be Barron but MTL was the first team that jumped to mind

They could be but I'm sure Montreal feels like they already have plenty of the Bords/Gush caliber player.

Hi friends!

What do you guys think Blackwood's and Ferraro's values are? Both would fit Avs well.

Ferraro is our fourth best dman, not particularly good but works relentlessly. Good pker and shot blocker, will take the body and is a leader. Quick (not fast), but terrible puck handler, skater, and puck mover. Many here would trade him for a song, but he seems like the type of guy Game always overpay for, I’d be happy with a 2nd, but probably would wait until after the year. Wouldn’t surprise me if he somehow gets 2 2nds or more likely a 2nd/3rd. It’ll be interesting to see him as a bottom pairing guy on a solid team. Liljigren is a really good partner for him (and he’s a good match with Lilly). He was awful in TBL/FLA (everyone was), but had string together a few of his best games strung his first year or two. He has apparently been on the block, but I’d be surprised if he is dealt this year.

Blackwood I think we’re more split on. He’s top 15 in SV% and has stolen points or kept the team competitive when we shouldn’t have been. He’s huge, young, and confident, and his head seems to be on straight. To me, I think he’s a league average starter for the next several years. We’ve all been saying it’ll take a 2nd, but I’m inclined to keep him for less than a 1st (perhaps giving up a 3rd). However, keeping Blackwood- if only offered a 2nd- would take place in a vacuum, a vacuum without Askarov. If there’s a way we can keep Blackwood and Askarov happy in a platoon situation, I think that’s best case scenario. I don’t think that’s realistic so Blackwood goes to EDM, COL, or CAR for a 2nd. St. Louis’s second would likely be the best offer, unless they use that for a RHD.

Thank you for very detailed explanations. I appreciate it.

It would be nice to see a deal between the Avs and the Sharks. I don't know how realistic it would be to offer up a 1st rounder in order to get both guys but that would be something worth considering from Avs POV.

I would put them both at 2nd round picks each but a 1st round pick would make it easier to pull the trigger. The Avs would have to send back Georgiev so if it was Blackwood and Ferraro for Georgiev, a 1st, and a 3rd, I’d do that.

Avs don't have a 1st round pick for 2025.
2025 draft is considered a "Top Heavy" draft year anyway. So the Sharks would want a 1st rounder from the Avs if they want an impactful NHL player for draft year 2026 or 2027 which is expected to be "deeper draft." years

Was nice to know you, Givani.
Yeah, I'm glad he took a step up this year, but waiving him can only be seen as a positive for the squad at this point. Cardwell is a more useful player at 21. W. Smith is an NHL player after 30 games, despite the hysterics from some on here earlier. Goodrow is better in the lineup than either Bords or Gush right now, both of whom are great hockey players but not great or even okay NHLers at this point, and unless they flourish elsewhere, will probably struggle to be.

We just don't need Givani. Best of luck to him wherever he lands.
