I like the acquisitions but I feel like Girard is not an Andre Tourigny kind of defenseman. I would be surprised if AZ went for that trade. Crouse and Hayden are probably two of their best assets.

And watching him play on the playoffs in the last couple years, he should be way down the list of players to traded.

A great #2C, all for the price of a 2nd rounder and a mediocre prospect.

You're right. It's been mentioned before.

Conversely, Lundell hasn't exactly been lighting it up.

But he's so damn cheap, he actually allows a retool. We're talking about filling the 2C position for 1,775,000. That would leave enough cap to fix the 3rd line, or at least seriously get a good center for it.

This is how I feel as well, but including Luostarinen. If he does well still won't result in a major raise either. Sign him to that chytil contract

If Florida is prioritizing Bennett over Lundell, it's win now mode. Newhook doesn't have that kind of value plus his progression timeline (or what is likely) doesn't fit win now.

It would be more like Toews for Lundell, one for one. And this makes sense for both sides.
