They’d probably have sent G there to greet him for that French connection and PLD would take out G’s knee as he fell. There goes our 2C and a possible trade chip for another forward.

That's for the better. Hes just too banged up, and too old to be counted on anymore. He played a surprisingly important role in the 2022 Cup Run, including an absolutely monster series clinching goal against St. Louis. That doesn't go in and who knows how that series ends up.

How much fun would a line of Calvert-Helm-Laperriere have been in their primes? Happy retirement to Helm, he initially came on as an afterthought, but his contributions to one of the few usable 4th lines the Avs have had in a long time was so important for that cup win.

God, that line would be a nightmare for opposing coaches to deal with. I know that would be a 3rd/4th line but I feel like it would get a LOT of ice time just pissing off the opposing stars. Didn't Lappy have at least one good goal scoring campaign for us too. He had some offensive pop to his game as well as his great personality and willingness to use his face to stop opposing players fists. Run that line to ruffle feathers, then send McAllister-Hunter-Odgers to finish them off.
