Wanna make a bet?

I don't gamble, but I find it hard to imagine an over 30% overhaul.

Up front you have 29, 96, 62, 13, 18, 25 all most likely coming back. With ERod, Malgin, Cogs, Nieto and Eller, all possible if management wants. Plus guys like Foudy and Meyers as options who I don't consider as new. I'm guessing ERod (think he takes another 1 year lower money deal), Cogs, and Malgin will be back.

Defense has 8, 7, 49, 4, 42 for sure. Outside of trade. EJ and JJ could both easily be brought back. And EJ will be back, if he wants to come back.

So realistically I see maybe 2 centers, 1-2 wingers depending if Newhook is traded or not maybe 1 dman if G is traded. No goalies. So maybe max 6 new guys.

Money is tight, they simply just aren't going have tons of options. Going to have to fill roles with guys like Foudy not UFAs. Obviously trades happen so that can change things quickly. But I don't foresee CMac all of a sudden becoming a wheel and dealer. So I'm not expecting more than 1 to 2 trades tops.

Lol it's the offseason for sure. I'm seeing tons of pipe dream scenarios.

We aren't getting Dubois we don't have the resources to offer a 7 year deal at higher money.

G isn't going to return Necas.

Not going to get Lindholm for G+.

We aren't going to have 7+ players overhauled from last year's roster.

We'll probably/hopefully see a trade for a 2C, but it will be short term probably one of the guys widely available like Kuznetsov (makes too much sense, position, term and money wise). Or maybe Scheifele, not sure in division trade, if we do it.

Then we'll probably see a couple lower end prove it ufa or trade deals, to keep costs down. Unfortunately we are not really in a position money wise to go after quality depth, it's going to have be cheaper players that are going to have to step up.

I've been proposing a lot moves, but the one I think I'll always go back to is the one stop shop of Crouse, Hayton and Valimaki- that package is essentially Gabe's cap hit.

I think the Avs will grab a pretty decent top 6 name this year... and I think it will be on the wing. They'll supplement center with a middle 6 type and a bottom 6 type... going into the season with Newhook at center (in a middle 6 spot). Then they'll also make a bigger move at RD... getting a 4/5 type to fill the bottom pairing role when Manson and Makar are healthy (read, he's playing a middle pairing role). Then a bunch of randos to fill out the rest of the bottom 6.

So something like a DeBrusk, Haula, Bjugstad, DeMelo/Peeke sort of offseason.

Those types of additions up front won’t get the job done for this team but I would absolutely love Peeke. Would be such an ideal fit.

Yeah I think he'd work out really well here. It would be ideal if he was a tad cheaper, but as Manson insurance, he's pretty ideal.

That's 7 names that are pretty unlikely to come back right away. Throw in a trade of Girard or Newhook(Possibly both)...

They'll easily have 7 new names here this year. They have to build an entire bottom 6 essentially.
