Xenforo Cloud will be upgrading us to version 2.3.5 on March 3rd at 12 AM GMT. This version has increased stability and fixes several bugs. We expect downtime for the duration of the update. I think he’s a large step up from Compher. Better defensively and much better motor. Even a good ~10-15 points more offense in him (this past season was a fluke and circumstance for Compher). Plus Kotka is a more natural center than a guy that moves around and is more ideal at wing.

So he'll fit right in with the rest of the team at the infirmary.
Smart move by Montreal. Cheap contract, if he's healthy and productive he is easy to move at the deadline for an asset.

I can't wait for some Habs fans to demand Byram, Makar (@ 50%) and the next 10 1sts for Monahan since he's clearly resurrected his career and has increased his value.
Not sure why you are saying that, could have been a viable 3C option, especially considering the price tag.
Not much risk on a 1 yr deal, even with injury history.
Avs are going to have to find cheap options to fill roles, so the names might not be the exact ones you want to hear. But we're going to probably have to take a risk on a player like a Monahan to fill a role.

We aren't getting Dubois we don't have the resources to offer a 7 year deal at higher money.
G isn't going to return Necas.
Not going to get Lindholm for G+.
We aren't going to have 7+ players overhauled from last year's roster.
We'll probably/hopefully see a trade for a 2C, but it will be short term probably one of the guys widely available like Kuznetsov (makes too much sense, position, term and money wise). Or maybe Scheifele, not sure in division trade, if we do it.
Then we'll probably see a couple lower end prove it ufa or trade deals, to keep costs down. Unfortunately we are not really in a position money wise to go after quality depth, it's going to have be cheaper players that are going to have to step up.

Yeah with his injury history and cost he'd been acquired as a cheap JTC 3C replacement.
We give CMac a bunch of shit, rightfully so, but Sakic isn't stupid and is still lurking. Sakic knows a real 2C is needed, thus I guarantee CMac knows this and better make it happen.
I also guarantee that CMac knows his seat is hot, you don't shit the bed to Seattle after winning the Cup and feel comfortable.

We can be upset at CMac for not getting a 2C for last playoffs, but in retrospect the options were insanely bad.
