Wood-Colton-Jarnkrok would be a really nice 3rd line, opponents would hate it so much.

Send them MacDermid and a 5th, they seem to want useless facepunchers now (presumably to punch Matthews, Marner, Tavares and Reilly when they start slacking again come April)
Yea I'm sure they get rid of Jankrok to make cap space but will want MacDermid back, especially with Reaves already in the lineup.

Not saying this is for sure how it happened, but it certainly comes off like Tarasenko straight up fired his previous agent when told that he should go to Carolina...which I don't really get, that team is built to do some damage.

Pat likes the Avalanche doesn't he? Tank, come on down.
CAA is one of the largest agencies in hockey (something like 125-130 players). They have plenty of working relationships throughout the NHL. The Avs won't be higher or lower on the list. IIRC the Avs only have 3 CAA clients currently and I'd say that is actually a pretty low amount for CAA... maybe not even top 20. I think Buffalo and LA are 9 or 10. Anaheim is 6 or 7. New Jersey is up there too.

Really a change in agent happens when someone Fs up. Tank probably had a 3-4 year deal at a decent amount that evaporated, so now he's resetting to try to find something. Likely similar to ERod last year.

So....he should come on down and enjoy the Colorado River, eh?

Yep, and Klingberg as well.

Tank likely turned down a good deal early in hope to get a better one and now he's only left with much shittier deals on the table.

I'm sure it's been discussed and I've missed but how much could we pay Tank?
It all depends on what Colton gets, I believe.

But we're probably looking at like roughly 3M? Possibly less? And that would be it. No more room for another depth F and depth D.

Honestly...where's the fit for Tank here? Hear me out.

We signed Drouin and you can bet your asses that he'll be given a long look next to MacKinnon. Much like it's been said before, I don't know where he fits in if he's not Top 6, and if he's Top 6 you need to put him with finishers (MacKinnon).

So to get Tarasenko to sign, you probably have to guarantee him a Top 6 spot. For us that means we either move Drouin off the Top 6 (which is likely to happen anyway, but it's not going to be a great look to do that before he even plays a game). So you don't move Drouin (despite him probably not deserving of the spot right away), who are you then going to move? Mikko is probably playing with MacK and Drouin; are you really going to move Lehkonen or Nichushkin to the 3rd line?

Tank would be nice, but I think I'd rather bolster our third line with the repeated names of sundqvist, gurianov

This. Split the 3M and try to get a third liner and a 3rd pairing defenseman. There are still two holes in the lineup:

Drouin - MacKinnon - Lehkonen
Nuke - RyJo - Rantanen
Wood - Colton - XXXXX
Cogliano - Meyers - LOC
Olofsson

Toews - Makar
Byram - Manson
Girard - XXXXX
J.J.

Not an issue at all. You move Lehkonen to the 3rd line and run Wood - Colton - Lehkonen as a frustrating 3rd line to play against akin to Coleman - Gourde - Goodrow during Tampa Bay's back-to-back cup runs.

I don't know about moving Lehky to the 3rd line. MacK seems to be best when he has a guy on his wing that likes to go to the dirty areas. Guys like Landy, Nuke and Lehky.
