Not Great, Bob!
He's just not good enough. Why? I was impressed with his motor and tenacity every time I saw him. A little bit like Antii Laaksonen - and after I wished for him we got him, so

It seems like we have to sign some cheaper guys and there seemed to be a lot of tenacious types UFA. And it would be nice if they aren't all 33 or older.Honestly, this gives me hope that is what they are planning on (not necessarily Kirivanta specifically). They've been at their most dangerous when they just overwhelm other teams with a strong forecheck.
What about Foudy on the RW there instead and keep LOC on the 4th line?I want a Wood-Colton-LOC 3rd line... it'll be inconsistent offensively and will have their fair share of penalty issues, but it would probably be the best forechecking line in the entire league. Find a way to make it happen CMac.
What’s wrong with Duclair? Was hurt most of this year, but score 23 and 31 goals the season prior?I don't love the names that people keep bringing up. Laughton (at the price that's been rumored), Duclair, Garland... They really need to swing for a bigger piece somehow.
I don't think he's ready for that role. IMO LOC will be elevated the most here... Colton stabilizes the middle of the ice so LOC doesn't have to go solo as often offensively. What about Foudy on the RW there instead and keep LOC on the 4th line?
We know LOC has virtually zero offense to his game despite wowing with the occasional toe drag snipe every few months.
I think the front office looked at Vegas and saw what depth can do.I don't love the names that people keep bringing up. Laughton (at the price that's been rumored), Duclair, Garland... They really need to swing for a bigger piece somehow.
Wait, you are off all week, presumably Finnish, and that's the best scouting report you can give me?He's just not good enough.
I mean they didn't need to look at Vegas since they did the exact same thing the year prior with tons of depth up front.I think the front office looked at Vegas and saw what depth can do.
I would hope he's ready for an NHL role sooner than later. Would do a lot to alleviate cap issues if he could slide into an NHL role for a cheap contract and produce ~30-35 points and be a speedy 3rd line menace.I don't think he's ready for that role. He doesn't score at an NHL player level, therefore he's not good enough to play in the league.Wait, you are off all week, presumably Finnish, and that's the best scouting report you can give me?
He seemed very useful to Dallas and annoying to play against.
Yeah, we overwhelmed teams quite often. There were some forechecks where we had the D trapped in their own end and almost apoplectic.I mean they didn't need to look at Vegas since they did the exact same thing the year prior with tons of depth up front.
Yup. They just expected too much from Newhook and JTC, and decided not to do anything about it when everyone else saw the issues. Glad they are being addressed now.I mean they didn't need to look at Vegas since they did the exact same thing the year prior with tons of depth up front.
I wasn't thinking we'd need points from him, just keep the offensively gifted players off the PK and make the 4th line hard to play against. Also, have experienced NHL players on the 4th line.He doesn't score at an NHL player level, therefore he's not good enough to play in the league.

I guess that's true. I see him as too much of a complimentary piece on a line. It could be old reputation or automatically attributing that to a winger for the Panthers. What’s wrong with Duclair? Was hurt most of this year, but score 23 and 31 goals the season prior?
Sorry, someone used "predilection" incorrectly in a post earlier and now I have explosive logorrhea.overcome with anger; extremely indignant.
"Mark was apoplectic with rage at the decision"
LOC needs to go back to playing like a maniac for this to work. When he only works harder than 75% of the league he's a pretty mid bottom sixer.I want a Wood-Colton-LOC 3rd line... it'll be inconsistent offensively and will have their fair share of penalty issues, but it would probably be the best forechecking line in the entire league. The Avs are sitting pretty right now. Those 2 1st round picks are giving them so many options.
I'm still running across words on this forum that I've never seen before! I'm not doing logorrheaSorry, someone used "predilection" incorrectly in a post earlier and now I have explosive logorrhea.
