Why is there an obsession over this guy? I get he's an analytical darling, but the dude flat out sucks as a hockey player. Sucked with huge opportunity in Edmonton and it took Brind'Amour about a week to hate him in Carolina.

Don't be rude. He's a nice guy.

Woah, i havent paid attention last couple of weeks, and only now i found out we traded for Ryan Johansen, Ross Colton and got rid of Newhook for 1st round pick? WTF is happening? 8-O

Anyway, what is the consensus about this? Colton si quality, right? And is Johansen paid from Landeskog money? I mean we have free cap for him cause Landy is LTIR?

What type of player or package would you guys like to see us target with the #27 + #31 overall picks?

Tom Wilson/DeBrusk/Lindholm

But honestly I think the smarter play now would be to trade just one of those picks for another top 9 forward and move Girard for a top 9 forward + D replacement. Keep the other pick/trade down and draft a forward or 2

Colton will be the #3 centre; Johansen was 50% retained down to $4 million so yes, more than covered by Landy out next season. Generally everyone on HFAvs is unusually, almost disturbingly, happy.

The only way I'd want us to trade the 1sts now is for a legit top 6 winger.
Funny how a week ago that same statement was for a center .

Konecny ?

If we could use the 2 1sts to acquire a guy like Brandon Hagel (defensively sound, way outproduces his contract, multi-year cheap deal), I think that's the smart move.
Would Tampa trade him though, as you said cheap multi year deal is likely valuable to them as well…unless you meant a player like Hagel?

I would love Konecny. But in regards to your quote of my post, it's a guy in a similar situation as Hagel was prior to his trade to Tampa. A guy on a deal that's way cheaper that what he is actually producing, it's a deal that is for a couple of years. Ideally, he's also got a defensive component.
