LOC needs to go back to playing like a maniac for this to work. When he only works harder than 75% of the league he's a pretty mid bottom sixer.

Pairing him with two guys that have high motors will raise his and insulate when it isn't there for him.

IMO, I would try and use one of them to get another good player that can play now, and use the other to draft a player

I wasn't thinking we'd need points from him, just keep the offensively gifted players off the PK and make the 4th line hard to play against. Also, have experienced NHL players on the 4th line.

That's true, and maybe on a fourth line he'd be fine, but I think every forward needs to hit about 15 points or they won't stick.

I guess that's true. I see him as too much of a complimentary piece on a line. It could be old reputation or automatically attributing that to a winger for the Panthers.

I mean we don’t really need play driving wingers though. Mack’s driving the top line. And Nuke and Mikko are likely driving the 2nd line. All we need is a dude who can hang in the top 6 and put the puck in the net really.

Depends on the 4C and 3RD spots. Meyers and Pavel are guys who will push for the 4C spot (Meyers maybe at the wing) and Malinski could step into the RD spot if the Avs don't insualte the spot. If the Avs make moves to cover those spots with NHLers today, I think they'd be injury callups.

Why is there an obsession over this guy? I get he's an analytical darling, but the dude flat out sucks as a hockey player. Sucked with huge opportunity in Edmonton and it took Brind'Amour about a week to hate him in Carolina.

I see a guy that couldn't produce at a high enough level next to the best player in the world... then a guy who pouts when he doesn't get his way... then a guy who couldn't provide a depth role on a team that should be contending (and loves their Finns). I just don't get it
