1st+OO(would cost more I imagine but) for Laughton

Lehk-Mack-Mikko
Nuke-RyJo-Drouin
Colton-Laughton-LOC
xxx-Meyers-xxx

I think you split up Mack/Mikko honestly but otherwise yeah. That group is pretty much exactly how I would construct a forward core lol.

Forechecking, two way monsters on the wings, with a few elite skill guys that will create all kinds of offense with that time and space sprinkled throughout the lineup.

I think it’s also important that these couple trades have term, 2 yrs for RyJo and Colton RFA. Our top 3 centres are locked in for the next two seasons is nice. (Assuming at minimum 2 year deal for Colton)

I just thought of this, but kind of sucks the Grzlecyk’s contract ends this season. I‘d bet there’s a chance he’s available for free and he’d be a perfect Girard replacement(and we‘d save cap) on the bottom pair if he got moved for futures or a winger of sorts.

Guess it wouldn’t matter a ton about his contract ending tbf. That would mean Toews comes back
and by then Behrens would probably take the 3rd pairing spot behind Byram-Toews anyways…

I don't love the names that people keep bringing up. Laughton (at the price that's been rumored), Duclair, Garland... They really need to swing for a bigger piece somehow.

I want a Wood-Colton-LOC 3rd line... it'll be inconsistent offensively and will have their fair share of penalty issues, but it would probably be the best forechecking line in the entire league. Find a way to make it happen CMac.

Agreed. I don't like Conor Garland at all, actually, and Duclair is way too inconsistent and one-man-team for my liking.

I could deal with Laughton but definitely not for a 1st round pick.

Avs need to aim higher than this.
