No.

I don’t think this management group would sign him. He’s not a playoff standout and generally most teams that he’s played for don’t want him back ALA us and compher

The same management group that just signed Drouin?

Tatar produces and his underlying numbers are good. He’s likely a cheap one-year deal or maybe even a PTO with the way the market is.

Yes. You are right.

Thats why a prime Lucic or even guys like Tom Wilson and Landeskog are so valuable.

They can be the enforcers but also play top line minutes and score 25 a year. Sadly, those guys are a dime a dozen.

Yes I know, and you don’t want Byram to play that game too much. Wood can play that game against Benn lol, what about Colton ?

Risk vs reward. 800k is little risk and if he can eve put up 25-30 points I’d say it paid off. I wasn’t a fan of the drouin signing. But he’s here. Hopefully he can rebound and be a plus in the playoffs
tatar is garbage in the playoffs. Look at his track record. I’d also say it’s an an indictment that he hasn’t yet been signed. I don’t really care what he does in the regular season … that sounds like a oilers fan narrative

A lot of solid players haven’t signed yet. He’s this year’s Rodrigues and someone will get him at a bargain.

knowing that Kovalenko is coming and we will probably add a forward at the deadline AND potentially Landeskog returning, I can stomach Tatar to add offense during the regular season. As long as he's not counted on/expected the produce in the playoffs he could turn into a fine 13th forward at that time of year.

Landeskog will not be back. At least for this year

Those who are saying Avs haven’t done enough this offseason, just think about it. They lost to Seattle but every game they lost was pretty much a one goal game. The Avs defended just fine, but couldn’t get that one or two more goals because no one other than Mikko and MacK could score. Lehky and ERod were ok, they also produced. The Avs don’t need too much. What they got in Drouin,RyJo, Colton and Wood should be enough to score that one or two more goals and provide the depth scoring. The D and goaltending is gonna be the same and solid.

So what I’m saying is, we’re gonna be fine. The roster isn’t even finalized yet
who are you?

upwards of 18 months.

I wonder if Jarnkrok is a name that gets moved in the next few weeks. Could be a good 3rd line option for us and would be pretty cheap to acquire.

Jarnkrok has been abysmal in the playoffs (5G in 86GP) just like Tatar, but he'd still be a decent pick up.

Colorado tends to trade with the same rotation of teams over and over (MTL, SJ, WSH, etc.), and have traded with Toronto (3) times since 2019. Just saying...(that I could see them be in the mix, to be clear)

Toronto has some cap trouble. Even with the rumored buyout of Murray they are still over the cap. Maybe swoop in and grab something for cheap.

Toronto has a number of interesting options. Murray seems destined to be a buyout, but 2.7m left to clear. They can buyout Brodie too and gain another 2.3m in room. They could trade Jarnkrok + another mil roster player for a minimum guy and be close enough to find a way. Or they could trade Nylander for pieces or a cost cutting move (I'd watch St Louis in that case). They have a workable situation, but each has their own set of pros and cons.

I think Suter ends up Minny.
