Adding player like Laughton or Pageau or Crouse or DeBrusk for the third line with Wood and Ross.
That could be amazing

There it is!Adding player like Laughton or Pageau or Crouse or DeBrusk for the third line with Wood and Ross.

Yeah, at this point I'd go with Nosek and Heinen to fill out the 4C and depth winger spots.Danton Heinen is still out there.
Heinen, Suter and Caleb Jones could fill the roster well enough?
Nah. Give some of the young guys a shot then reassess at the deadline.Yeah, at this point I'd go with Nosek and Heinen to fill out the 4C and depth winger spots.
Defensemen all suck, but Dumba, Jones, or Foote could add some depth.
Agree with all except goaltending. I still have reservations about Georgiev and if he can turn it all the way up for 16 wins.

Nah. Because if they have even one injury, they're going to have trash bags in the lineup immediately.Nah. Give some of the young guys a shot then reassess at the deadline.
Ahh the old 2022 playbookNah. Give some of the young guys a shot then reassess at the deadline.
Have you ever actually watched Ferraro?Girard still has more value than a 3rd line wing and a 7th d
Ray? Yeah he’s terribleHave you ever actually watched Ferraro?
Ray? Yeah he’s terrible
Played too much EA nhl hut games . His annoying voice is burnt in my headGuess I wasn't the only one to have that thought lol.
I think you have to add 1 more NHL body in the bottom 6. 12-15F is too weak/unknown in my opinion. I wouldnt be surprised if that new body ends up being a PTO type guyNah. Give some of the young guys a shot then reassess at the deadline.
Don't think it's about the financial climate TBH. He plays a skilled game, but he's not good enough to be top-6 forward in the NHL (constantly). And his frame and playstyle won't fit in the bottom-6. And this is universal, not just with the Avalanche. In the current NHL financial climate, this is the best move for him.
Well you got a good two months to shop around.I think you have to add 1 more NHL body in the bottom 6. 12-15F is too weak/unknown in my opinion. I wouldnt be surprised if that new body ends up being a PTO type guy
Ye gods! Quenville would love that pine up.The letter N is represented 26 (if ben=benjamin) times in our forward corps. We also have two names ending in IN. Three that end in ON (and Manson and Johnson on D) Three that end in NEN.
Basically the forward lines should be this:
Olofsson-Mackinnon-Colton
Lehkonen-Johansen-Rantanen
Drouin-Center with a name ending in IN-Nichushkin
Then the outcast 4th line:
Wood-Meyers-O'Conner/Cogliano
Why are we downgrading from Girard to not save any cap space?Capfriendly comments on it are little more levelheaded
There was 17.5mil(not including Gabe's) next off-season according to an 87.5 cap room. All we'd have to resign Kunin, Toews, D depth
Girard+OO for Kunin+Ferraro

I used to not be upset one bit if KMac was the healthy scratch. In fact, I prefer him to be scratched and have everyone else playing either in the NHL or AHL. If you pay a guy to sit, you pay KMac. But we have better options now. Brad Hunt can also play 4th line forward or either side D and, in my opinion, do so better than KMac and the upside is he's 225K cheaper.I was waiting for Colton to be signed to do this, so here's my humble pie post.
MacFarland upgraded 2C and 3C, at the same price tag as Compher/Newhook got, and not only did he hold on to all his LHD and his first rounder he picked up another first rounder in the process and added two first round prospects to the pipline. Hell of a summer from him, I didn't think we'd have anywhere near this good of a summer coming out of his terrible first year.
There are still some things I'm crossing my fingers on, I actually have more confidence in Drouin at MacKinnon's wing than I do of RyJo at 2C. The Avs really need RyJo to work out or all of this is for nothing. Colton at 3C with Wood on his wing is going to be f***ing awesome. It's going to be nice to have proper depth again.
Also, why the f*** is McDermid on this roster? That (almost) 1 million could be really useful right now.
I think Rant will need to be second line to give Johansen a stud to run with, and to have a defensive focused player on the top line, in either Nuke or Leky. The letter N is represented 26 (if ben=benjamin) times in our forward corps.
