In fairness alot of players remain there after their playing days.

My brother has worked in several cities in the US and was in St.Louis (working a lot in the Quad Cities area too ) and he enjoyed his time there . His favorite was Philadelphia actually as he lived in the area where a lot of younger players live. (Carter and Richard's at that time)

His least favorite city was Houston. He hated that place.
I will not back down on shitting on St Louis.

I'm triggered.

Perhaps, but stylistically the best guy to play with Wood and Colton would be Drouin.

That pizza looks good
I highly disagree that Drouin is that guy. Doesn't play with pace or jam, he'd be wildly out of place on that line. Stylistically, Lehky. Callup wise, Foudy (long-term he's the answer there). Bednar loves LOC though.

If the Avs are not going to sign a NHL level 3W, which I feel would be the best option. Then the only internal option that I'd be ok with would be Foudy.

Give him a shot with two bigger guys that can protect him. It would such a plus if we got a NHL level player from an internal draft pick after round 1.

The last thing I want to see is then try to fill that spot with some BS journeyman AHLer, like a Megna, that sucks donkey ass. Unfortunately, I feel this is the route they are most likely to take.

If they were on the 4th line you'd have a point but it's our 3rd line. Wood and Colton are shoot first, not-great-defensively, can't pass the puck forwards. That means that it won't be a good defensive 3rd line and they need to score goals..and for that they need someone to feed them the puck. LOC sure as hell won't do that.

Drouin could do well in that spot if the other two are opening space.

If the Avs could find a way to have the depth to run:

Wood - Colton - Lehky

As the 3rd line, we're big cup favorites again IMO. They really should trade G for a legit Top 6 forward. Or for draft picks and then flip those picks for a Top 6 forward like Konecny.

Drouin - Mack - Nuke
Konecny - RyJo - Mikko
Wood - Colton - Lehky
I agree with this 100%, if that is the 3rd line you will instantly be Cup favorites. There isn't a team that really could match that top 9 depth.

I see Drouin failing massively if he's on a line that is expect to play with energy.

On the NHL roster, the most ideal is Lehky. If you're moving someone out of the top 6 to actually help the 3rd line, it should be him. To effectively do that, Drouin needs to be a top 6 guy. And the Avs need to grab another or have Landy step right in during the playoffs.

haha I think it was the smallness of the city after a long day at work and going out for a few pints and the music scene.

Can't remember some of the band but remember him saying Ben Harper was good at a small cabaret type event

The guy's rep in the locker room is...tarnished a bit, but I think I'd be ok with a Parise signing too.

and while I wouldn't say he's soft, I don't exactly think of him as a net front presence either. AITOO?

Zach Parise getting a PTO/minimum contact with the Avs wouldn't shock me at all. He could help replace some of the net-front presence and leadership that the Avs will be missing from Landy's absence
I'd be a bit surprised... Parise as always wanted to be in Minny or the New York area. And he's stated it is basically Isles or done. But he'd be perfect for a 4th line role here. Even at times elevate to the 3rd.

He's raved about in Long Island... I wouldn't worry too much about his later years in Minny. That was kind of a mess all around.

Ya I'd be thrilled with Parise but I don't imagine he's all that interested in moving back to the Western Conference and all the West coast travel again.

I'm pretty sure a report even came out that said he was essentially NYI or retirement.

Oh man. I love me some Konecny. Sign me up all day for that dude. Thats a sweet top 9 IF Drouin, RyJo and Wood can play their best hockey.

I would really like to see this play out but I also wouldn't mind seeing us sign an established 3W if we can. Signing a 2W or trading Girard for one I think is a pipe dream.
