Laba had a goal and an assist last night.

He's up to 30 points in 30 games. Next highest on the team is undrafted Gleb Veremyev with 23 points in 31 games.

Laba also leads the team in:

Goals 17 (Veremyev has 13)
GWGs 7 (2 other players have 2)
Plus/Minus +17 (Veremyev is +14)
SHG 2 (No other player has a SHG)

He is 2nd on the team in PPGs with 4 (Wisdom has 5), so he's doing most of his damage at even strength.

I don't know if he'll go pro this summer, but I'm anxious to see what he can do at the AHL level.

just me guessing here,
but given the new age NCAA, where guys transfer easily,
wonder if he moves on, to play on
a deeper, highly-ranked team, or a deeper conference like HE or B10

I understand where you’re coming from on this but prospects transfer generally because of a bad situation. I don’t think it applies to Laba.

Unless a top team can give him the ice he is getting now it doesn't make much sense for him.

Colorado College was a great spot for him. He's gotten a shit load of minutes since he stepped foot on campus and it's benefited him a bunch.

Speaking of Laba, he had 2 assists last night in a 4-1 win. Colorado College is 11th in the pairwise rankings. Hopefully they make the NCAA tournament.

Lamb had a goal and an assist on 4 shots in a 6-5 OT loss. He's up to 24 points in 34 games after having 8 points in 39 games last year. Curiously, he had 4 goals and 4 assists last year, and this year, he has 12 goals and 12 assists. Minnesota is 7th in the pairwise and should be a lock for the tournament, I would think.

not knowing much about him Laba seems like a prime turn-pro candidate this year. Exponential growth post draft, NHL ready body, played in all situations in a mediocre college program.

And this is his D+3. If he was drafted his first year eligible and started his college career the same age as Berard, there would be more talk about him turning pro this year.

A couple months ago I was more into signing Chmelar after this year than Laba. Then Chmelar got hurt and since returning at least in production he's been struggling. Laba meanwhile has turned into a clutch and overtime hero who seems to be leading his team's quest to get into the 16 tournament teams that will vie for the NCAA championship so I'm more inclined to signing him now. Maybe I'm being fickle but that's where I am now.

I honestly would be okay with both of them signing this year. Same age, same D-year (D+3). And with multiple players making the jump to the Rangers roster, there are spots to fill in Hartford.

Noah Laba just scored his second goal of the game. It's a highlight reel short handed goal. Showed great determination to get to the puck and then hands to beat the goalie on a short handed breakaway. He also was 8-0 on face offs in the first period. And as I'm typing this he just made a great pass to a teammate who was stopped.

Am watching too. That 2nd goal was impressive. I like the way he plays. He attacks and has a good motor and he uses his stick well. sneaky skill. Seems like his style is translatable to pro. Hard to know if it's NHL or just the A. But I am very intrigued. He 10000000% needs to be signed. He is quickly becoming one of my fave prospects. He's got a little Trocheck and Brodzinski in him. But not sure he has the same kind of shot.

I am a little concerned with his leaned over style of skating. But otherwise, I'm impressed.
