I get it - and I do understand and respect your argument. No innocent party, in an ideal world, should suffer due to the behaviors of others.

My issue is that at best 5 players had sex consecutively with a young lady in a hotel room over several hours during an event that was supposed to celebrate Canadian hockey and an International championship. During this time police report a not insignificant additional number of players on the team having "watched" the show. I don't think that is in any dispute. All this during a government/taxpayer funded event (I presume -- but I know the players sure didn't foot the bill).

At worst, the young lady was accosted and sexually assaulted by at least 5 players.

A team is a team. The team won the Championship - not the five (and possibly more) guys. They all got their moment of glory with the trophy and the benefits that came along with that.

Now, using that same "all for one" team mantra, some are possibly paying an unfair price for actions of several of their teammates.

Perhaps not fair, but I think a blanket ban is unavoidable given the court ruling and the disgusting behavior of several players on that team. It's just my opinion though.

I'm with you -- we're good -- I respect your opinions on this and as you say, just agree with some but disagree with others.
The question is does the blanket ban continue? If Makar wasn't there, and had no knowledge, can you keep him suspended and keep him out of the Olympics? There's a potential libel case there, with a direct line to missed earnings due to Olympic endorsements, etc. I don't know how HC keeps the non-charged players suspended without some level of detail on why. If there were others party to it in the room, one would think they would have been charged, given it's a crime to do so.

I think if you have players who were not in London for the event (and I know there was one or more - just can't remember who) absolutely.

I think if you have players at the event in general but who turn out to not have been at the hotel or bar, etc??? Maybe?

I'm guessing it falls under the Courts ruling of there being a gag on the names of other parties involved in the court filings the other day. If you allow some but not others, doesn't that chip away at the Court's intent? I don't know, and I'm not a lawyer.

Bottom line though? I'm just not overly concerned. A large portion of the team acted like absolute pigs - at best. Accordingly, if the team as a whole pays a price for that swinish behavior (acceptable culture????) I can live with that.

Again, it's not fair. But someone like Cale Makar isn't exactly living in duress. He will be just fine.

Same here - tip of the cap to you for a respectful discussion on a difficult topic.

I just hope, for the sake of the victim and everyone else involved, that the next steps in this matter proceed more quickly than has been suggested in the media, unlikely as that may be.

You as well. Sincerely.

This is a lousy situation.

And I could not agree more. The sooner this moves forward to a just resolution (whatever that turns out to be) the better for everyone. 2026, as I think has been thrown out, seems patently unfair to everyone.

At this point I’m convinced the Leafs signed one of Macaulay Culkin’s brothers instead of Tyler Bertuzzi by mistake and Bert’s just too nice to say they have the wrong guy

13 years ago today Thomas and Price went at it. What a game that was.

I was there with my 13 year old niece. It was her first game. She asked if they were all like this, I told her no, you got a good one. She also became a big Habs hater when the Habs fans in my section boo'd the veteran getting filmed for the 8-Spoke Salute (they used to film it right next to my seats). She asked me "Why are they booing that soldier?" I replied, they are Habs fans, it's what they do.

Watching Islanders vs Flames game & a few times I saw players get pucks deep before gaining red line and they let it go .Well that made me think about the amount of times now I see that & it's becoming the new norm. That takes more hitting out of the game.Sure hope playoffs they make you gain line.End rant :D

Yeah, but they did WIN those games. I don't care who you play, winning 16 in a row in the NHL is an accomplishment.

The thing I'm most impressed by Edmonton, is the fact that they've shored up their game on the defensive end. They were hemorraging goals at the beginning of the season and now they are currently 2nd in the NHL for Goals Against.

Certainly is but that chart sure shows it was easiest way ever if its ok to use that term because you're right it's still 16 straight. .They played Vegas the other night & lost then beat Ducks last night so its not pushing detractors away .See playoffs what they are should be a fair assertion Rocco .

Agree the 16 in a row is no small feat. I'll still be routing for them to lose in the playoffs. Just like I do for all tank teams (EDM, PIT, CHI, ...)

Crazy ending to the Leafs-Sens game. Ridley Greig was skating towards an empty net with the puck ( Leafs goalie pulled ) and slapped the puck hard into the goal, Morgan Reilly was furious and cross-checked him in the face, he's getting suspended for that.

Stutzle is such a f***ing diver. Disgraceful.

Can't believe the ref fell for that guy again, was a terrible call.

Punk move by Greig…laughed my ass off

Leafs board seems proud of 44 for being baited into suspension
