Real bad for both RHP and Harris, who are both trying to establish NHL careers. Their potential replacements (on the farm or currently on the tream) may overtake them on the pecking order if they seize the opportunity.

Harris has nothing to worry about right now.. RHP though..

Struble?? Opportunity for Barron and Kovacevic to move up the ladder and solidify their places? Can Harris be a 6-7 D at his size? Inquiring minds want to know!!!

Kovacevic doesn’t have a long term future with this team. Or who do you think makes room for reinbacher, Hutson etc etc etc

Guhle
Barron
Matheson
Reinbacher

Locks next year. Then imo Harris and xhekaj are ahead of kovacevic. Struble, maillaux coming. Anyways.

small little smurf teams get rocked and injured , not a shock at all. Look how pathetic our blueline is after lose Webs, Chairot, Edmundson, Petry and Kulak lol. We went from one of the biggest bluelines in the NHL with minor inuries, to the most injured. Kent is as dumb as the rest of them, he thinks you can win with speed and skill, size isn't somehow an issue unless you make the playoffs, which we won't be doing for another 5-7 years.

I mean you don't even have to ice a physically dominant team, but just enough size to get out of your own zone in one piece lol. The organization mentality here has always been sus, nothing changes. Look at the size of this team when they went to the final and knocked Vegas out. We were a large team that was NEVER pushed around, then they abandoned it once again. Same in 93, we went from a large phsyical team, sprinkled with talent.. then threw it all away for a new direction which failed us for another 25 years.

The only constant here is the Molson family, they must be dictating what teams they want to see on the ice.

The argument that they get hurt because they're a small team doesn't hold up. It's not because RHP, Gallagher, and Caufield get hurt, the Canadiens' injuries are because they're small. Because if you look at last year and this year, a lot of the guys that went down with long term injuries were big guys.

- Monahan: 6'2" & 202 lbs
- Slaf: 6'3" & 238 lbs
- Matheson: 6'2" & 196 lbs
- Anderson: 6'3" & 227 lbs
- Guhle: 6'3" & 205 lbs
- Xhekaj: 6'4" & 238 lbs
- Edmundson: 6'5" & 224 lbs
- Dvorak: 6'1" & 200 lbs

So far this year:
- Dach: 6'4" & 218 lbs
- Savard: 6'2" & 234 lbs
- Heineman: 6'1" & 185 lbs
- Andersson: 6'1" & 190 lbs

These are guys who missed or are currently missing significant time to injury. As you can see, a lot of those guys are big.

I remember last year on the radio, Laraque kept talking about how the Habs get injured because they're a small team. I remember hearing him say this and I looked into it and saw that most of the guys who were out with long term injuries were big bodies.

I tend to agree with @Whitesnake, who says that the fact they play the chasing game most of the games doesn't help them because they're expending more energy instead of having the puck and dictating the pace of the game.

The coaches love Harris, as they should. Struble would have to be insanely good to do anything to jeopardize Harris' line-up spot right now.. Barron and Kova are right shot D so not really competing for the same looks overall.

Harris will have to worry more when Hutson arrives, but as of right now, he will get his minutes when he returns and he's exactly the type of defenseman you want as your 5-7, smooth skating, plays all 3 zones, makes smart decisions all over the ice.

Dach, Savard, Harris, RHP... 4 opening-day regulars out for long-term injuries before we hit the 20-game mark.

Just playing devils advocate here, but Webers career is over after playing with all the injuries he sustained and Edmunson has missed significant time with back injuries. Big guys, but definitely not injury free.

Yeah, it's in the 2nd full year of the rebuild so it sucks.. as most rebuilds early in their infancy do.. they don't have good rosters otherwise they wouldn't be rebuilding.
I think some fans simply don't understand that we are rebuilding because we've made the post season with such piss rosters thanks to price they think its the norm for bottom 5 league wide rosters on paper to play above their head like we did for 10 years.

Yeah something is going on here.. because there's too much hand wringing on a process that started 2 years ago when Bergevin got fired.

Savard and Dach were not injuries from physical play, but Arbs, Guhle, Dach last year.. were from over-compensating on the size dept, and they were playing too far out of the element. Fact is we are still too small and forced to play a poor style of hockey that is going to lead to more injuries, in my mind anyways.

oh for sure, but Webs has been broken for a while and Edmundson as well.

Chasing the puck, and blocking way too many pucks!!! Causes injuries....
Play with the puck, and shoot the puck and the other guys get injured.....

Absolutely crazy once again the injury bug follows us everywhere....

I personally question some of the « Laine too old, get what you can for Monty Monahan is trade bait » type comments. You need to keep and acquire some good pieces too. Suck breeds suck. There’s a difference between trading hopefuls for vets on a strech playoff hope and building long term by also trading for core pieces… I agree being constantly outmatched in xp, talent and strength would lead to more injuries (and limit development).

Just wondering.....did those 2 guys came back too early while it was not suppose to happen anymore? I mean....why did we changed trainers?
I think the players continue to lie to the medical staff...

Saying that, Harris's previous injury was upper body, this one is lower body.
