Is there any reason to not put Dach on LTIR if he is indeed out for the season? I sometimes miss the small nuances of LTIR.

Beside the Habs not having any need for the cap space right now? I don't know, there might be differences in term of payments and insurances between having someone on IR vs LTIR that aren't public knowledge so it's more advantageous for teams to keep them on IR as long as possible.

No need to place anyone on LTIR once Dvo is activated, Habs will still have plenty of cap space from Price's LTIR. A forward will have to be sent back down or traded thought.

Every time you put someone on ltir you have to get as as close to 0 cap space as possible you will lose what ever you had before that person goes on ltir
