Sounds like you've uncovered an unfulfilled highlights package that's needed? There are highlight packages out there that showcase what he’s capable of with his skating. Highlights don’t show consistency issues.

Three straight minutes of dudes kinda standing around on various plays. Perfect.Sounds like you've uncovered an unfulfilled highlights package that's needed?
Yes, I've seen the highlight packages, but to me, they're against players that aren't dynamic...which then makes it easier for him to control the play. Again, I don't see "fast twtich skill" with him. I see smooth slow or slow smooth, however you describe it. I don't think he'll be sucessful at higher levels against higher agility players...they will be able to exploit his weaknesses, which I don't think are going to get that much better, because I've never seen "fast" with him doing anything.I’ve seen him look that way. Like today. But I’ve also see him absolutely gobble up time and space super quick with big long strides. I think he’s got consistency issues with his feet. Which would be one thing if he was a year younger. It’s a bigger problem at his age. There are highlight packages out there that showcase what he’s capable of with his skating. I see your point and I’m half sold. But I think that’s not a deal breaker. It’s usually how giant guys are. Like Lamoureux and But. Or K’Andre Miller and Tage Thompson. Or Jovanovski and Hanzal. None of these are perfect examples. But I think there’s a type of highly effective, large NHL player that’s smooth but lacking in fast twitch quickness.Yes, I've seen the highlight packages, but to me, they're against players that aren't dynamic...which then makes it easier for him to control the play. again, not a fan.
Difference is that those other players do things "fast"...everything I see from Pulkkinen is slow, stick slow, agility slow, I haven't seen any plays that I'd consider "fast twitch".I see your point and I’m half sold. agreed...give that kid 10 more lbs and a touch more stability and he's going to be a defensive nightmare for players...then combine him with Simashev and you've got a top line with not one but two 6'7'' kids who can really skate.Watching MavLam he so reminds me of a young Chara. Similar size, movement, awkwardly smooth and smart.
The org has to feel great with his progress.
Lutz could be a Martinook-type. Perfect 4th liner.Helenius reminds me so much of Keller. The good and the bad. But the new Keller who will skate in traffic. Not the old soft Keller from his early NHL days.
Lutz was a hound today. Very annoying player for the Finns. He was all over the puck and has some real skill. I was impressed.
I don’t think Gormley ever had the slippery skill that Pulkkinen has. Certainly not the punishing nastiness. I like his stick quite a bit because he’s usually got the blade below his knees and he’s usually got it out in front of him. Newfangle D with their blade out to the side and at their waist make me nuts. Haha.Difference is that those other players do things "fast"...everything I see from Pulkkinen is slow, stick slow, agility slow, I haven't seen any plays that I'd consider "fast twitch".
To me that's a deal breaker. You know who I see...I see a taller Gormley...that's who he reminds me of and Gormely regardless of his injuries, was getting smoked by higher agility players so the higher level he played the worse he got. To me it's going to be the same with Pulkkinen.
Pulkkinen reminds me of MavLam more than anything honestly. Haha.Watching MavLam he so reminds me of a young Chara. Similar size, movement, awkwardly smooth and smart.

With 8 picks between the 2nd and 4th rounds….prepare yourself…a 6-6/210lb LHD Pukkinen will be drafted by Arizona.I don’t think Gormley ever had the slippery skill that Pulkkinen has. This tournament will be a big time deciding factor for Pulkkinen. I really don’t think he’s going to fall to our 2nd.With 8 picks between the 2nd and 4th rounds….prepare yourself…a 6-6/210lb LHD Pukkinen will be drafted by Arizona.![]()
5th rounder Thelin > 2nd rounder Hrabal ?Melker Thelin starting in goal for team Sweden vs Germany today
I just think that you can go get goalies...Bryz, Smith, Ingram...no reason to spend draft capital, especially since most of them take 5-6 yrs for success.5th rounder Thelin > 2nd rounder Hrabal ?
You never know with goalies. I wish our goalie scout would relinquish all top 90 picks in perpetuity.
Thelin with a 15 save shutout. Fair to say he didn't get tested much though.Melker Thelin starting in goal for team Sweden vs Germany today
He didn't...I watched the game and I don't think there was a single hard save in the entire game. Hope he gets in another game against higher level compThelin with a 15 save shutout. Fair to say he didn't get tested much though.
I would think he gets the nod against Finland. Certainly if they manage to win against Canada. But Hävelid is probably considered #1.He didn't...I watched the game and I don't there was a single hard save in the entire game. Hope he gets in another game against higher level comp
If that's our future top d pairing they could potentially be out there with Geekie and But. I believe it was on one of the PHNX podcasts. If that's our future top d pairing they could potentially be out there with Geekie and But. (ouch)
I read last week But is now 6'9". I don't remember the source, but I believe it came from BA.
