Hungary scored ? hey, that is a victory in itself for them really. The game's well decided, so I'm legitimately just happy for Hungary on that goal. Well done!
@Czechboy has Czech Republic vs. Finland on. I'm watching the tail end of USA vs. Hungary. USA is up 11-1 with six and a half minutes left. Hungary just got their first goal ever against the USA in international play.
USA makes it 12-1.
I wish i could watch it, there is a place I can usually stream most any game but there is only a single Czech fee for the game but this one asks me to allow them to use cookies and I'm leery of that, maybe I shouldn't be.If you watch TSN online, it's on a bonus channel online! Nice competitve match.. obviously a big step down from US vs Canada.

They seem to let plenty of hits go in the U.S-Canada games.Little irony here... 16 year old Sapovalova 'hit' a Finn and hurt her... no penalty call. My understanding of the rules is it was a foul. 1 minute later she draws a penalty.lol Czech PP and a great chance to start... Finn goalie is a standup positonal goalie and doing very well.
That's how they roll in oil country!!FTR.. the Oil have ruined my understanding of a PP. They essenitally play one unit all the time. I'm not used to 2 units coming out and splitting it.lol

I don't see why checking isn't allowed anyway in the womens game.

And I don't blame them.
It was orignally because China was very physical wasn't it?You can say what you want about why it wasn't allowed originally, but the players overwhelmingly don't want body checking to be introduced, and that's that as far as I'm concerned. It's a very physical game without the actual hitting anyway.

I wonder why they don't want it in their game? but you're right, they do play physical despite the rule. You can say what you want about why it wasn't allowed originally, but the players overwhelmingly don't want body checking to be introduced, and that's that as far as I'm concerned. I could be wrong but I seem to recall Team China being huge and they were bowling people over and they took out hitting so the skills of the game could develop. Not a hill I'd die on but that is how I remember it from the 1990s.I wonder why they don't want it in their game? but you're right, they do play physical despite the rule.
I'm fine without it personally. On a side note, if you want my opinion as a woman, I don't care to see body checking in the women's game. I played without it (save for two seasons of high school hockey where it was mixed-gender -- and I was tall and lanky those two seasons, my grade 11 and 12 years, who preyed on destroying opponents in grades 9-10, so it didn't affect me much, but was mildly amusing), enjoy the women's game just fine without it, and if the players don't want it, so be it. It's not really worth the trouble to try and introduce it to the girl's/women's game in practice, so it just is what it is.

Oh wait.. GOAL!!!! Spin and fire in the slot. Sweet 'hockey shot'... near post and above pad.. 12 inches of the ground. Hope Czechs are ready for a lot of Finn pressure because their men tend to score right away when this happens to them.
