WC: 2022 Women's World Championships

This Finland - Czechia game was the first women's hockey game I've watched since 2019 (I think) and it was way more entertaining than I thought it was gonna be! Too bad it had to end on a braindead giveaway.

Congratulations, Czech Republic!

So I think this ruined Japan's day too... Finn's will cruise through the loser pool'.

I also think it means Czechs are in A pool next year and I think it'll be Czechs, Finns and Swiss joining the big 2.

We actually have to get to the gold medal game first, too. Upsets happen.
The only nation that could upset was Finland... Semi's won't be must see TV IMO. Finals and Bronze will. And I don't think there is much drama left in placement games... Finns vs Japan should be good though.

But yes, upsets happen and lots of hockey to be played!

Well, it'll either be Czech Republic or Sweden for us. Not exactly a likely upset, I wouldn't say. I'm just trying to be humble, you know? I'm a USA fan, but I don't want to be an arrogant bitch about it. It was only 4-1 in the Olympic quarterfinal against the Czechs, although clearly a mismatch. A few weird bounces and a couple superhuman saves and that could make it 3-2 the other way, just saying. Very unlikely, but that's why you play the games.

Sweden, on the other hand, well, they have 0 shots against Canada, and were barely able to even have any zone time with a power play.

And it's a 1 goal game. Despite it being a slaughter.

Thats the ONLY Czech hope to beat US or Canada but skating backwards for 60 minutes is very hard to win.

Appreciate the humility.. as the opposition I see an ass kicking coming in for us. The Bronze and Pool A placement next year would be huge for us... no matter what I had one more game I was really excited about.. Bronze against Swiss OR placement against Japan if Finn's beat us. Both were very important because it is hard to catch the best if you don't get to play them. Not that I think we'll be on the US or Canada level anytime soon. I just want a fair crack at 4 and 5!lol

I just hope for an entertaining game and a good performance by our opponent. Of course, at the end of the day, I'm also a USA fan, so I want to win, so there's that. :)
