WC: 2022 Women's World Championships

Feel bad for the Swedes... they've completely shut out ladies down, taken the lanes, active sticks. Doing a great job and we only had 6 shots after almost half the game. All 6 shots were whiffs, fans or just weak. Shot 7 was a beaut though and Czechs are up 1-0 despite Swedes playing damn near perfect.

FTR.. for those that won't watch till the finals... all 4 games today should be very close and entertaining...

The Czech Swede game is avoid Canada/US and Sweden has to win in regulation so lots of drama.
Canada plays US in an amazing rivalry
Switzerland and Finland play in what should be even (Finn's up 2-0 right now)
Germany and Denmark are very evenly matched

It's probably the most competitve day of the tourney as the Quarters will have 2 blowouts.

I'd also like to thank Czech TV for showing every highlight from the world jrs. I had to miss that tourney as I was travelling. It was cool to see all the games in order and all the goals. Bednar had a really bad tournament. Mysak was everywhere! Sapo is always in the right spot.
Loved Mysak in the tournament, just the kind of guy with real potential to help fill out our lower two lines in Montreal, maybe even more, you need those type players to be a winning team.

And by god.......................somehow, someway we are gonna be a winning team.

Going from the finals to cannon fodder sucks...

My Oil did it after Carolina finals.lol Then in 2016 I thought we had turned the page. Nope.

Hockey fandom can be cruel!

The comparable for Mysak seems to be Lehkonen...

So that is the last World Championships.. Czechs go undefeated with a plus 13... then we don't get to play the 4 or 5 team and lose to Finland 1-0.

Now we go undefeated again... 4-0 with a balance of plus 21-2 for a plus 19.

And we get Finland again and if we lose maybe we can go undefeated in Pool B again and never get a shot at the Swiss or Japan to move up to that A pool. Only way to get to the 5 seed is by beating the 3 seed and, in this sport, there is a difference between the 3 and 5 seed. Grrr! Fix the format... Canada pool and US pool. Mix and match the lower tiers up so they play each other. This format is flawed now. 3 to 8 is much more even then it used to be.

Swedes played great. Pulled goalie with 8 minutes left. Put it all out there.

The Czech celebration is awful. If I was an opposing coach I would show it and say don't let the ladies do this to us.lol

Lekhonen would be a good comparable, although i think Mysak has better hands to put the puck in the net down low.

Hard to say for me.. I feel like all his goals come from hard work. I don't know if I think 'finesse' when I think of him. More of the 'does things right' sort of guy.. or plays an honest game and gets rewarded. Somethign like that. Great captain and seems to be liked everywhere. Definitely a hard worker. He's probably planking right now.lol

I don't think he;s a finesse player either though when presented with opportunities through his hard work he seems to be able to find the back of the net. Lekhonen was awful frustrating that way, he would create chances but 9 times out of ten couldn't score on them, still a valuable player though.

Reminds me of JP! He does everything right and nothing goes in.lol

Another one is Sapovaliv from the Czech JRs... perfect package but can't seem to finish. Big, strong, smart, tall... he's perfect till the finish.lol

Mysak's big thing is he likes to do what I call the hockey shot... I'm trying to perfect it for my pickup games... near a post and above the goalie pad so about 12 inches off the ice.

JP is Lekhonen on steroids as far as scoring ability is concerned, such a waste of obvious positives.

You guys need to roll him out of town along with a few others such as Yamamoto, this small guy with good skill but not over the top skill so can't make up for his diminutive stature, will never win a Stanley Cup with guys like that in your top 6.

Be done with them.

This is the first time in decades where I don't feel 3 players away from a cup.lol

We are always in need of one more G, D and F and all 3 need to be elite.lol

I like Yam and JP for different reasons. Holloway is coming and might push one of them to bottom 6 by April.

You carry a far better opinion of them then I do, I just don't feel you've got a SC contending team with guys like that in their spots.

Long suffering fan... Rarely do I have glimpses of hope like this.lol.

I think the forward group is as good as any. I don't like Kane at all but he is good at the puck thing.

I'd honestly say adding chrychrum would make us a cup contender. One guy away. Or get Tony stark to fix klefbom.lol.

I only saw the second half of that period but seems generous for Canada to be up two. Sometimes you get the breaks, might as well take advantage.

It is generous they are up 2 as the last half of the period they were clearly outplayed, first half was clearly Canada though.
