The velocity loss is a bigger problem than the location. You can fix location but when you’re 35 and have dropped from 91-92 to 88 that doesn’t come back.

When Ryu was successful in 2020 his velocity was around 88-90 at times. The control is a much bigger issue.

Jays signed Ryu to 4 years thinking it'll be 2 good years while jays are rebuilding then they can dump him when they are ready to be good.

But Ryu sucked faster and jays got good faster. Really might be time to dump him

His FB velocity last year was 90 mPH and in 2020 it was 89.8 so certainly he had outings in 2020 where his FB was around 88.

I mean, some pitches sure and when you’re going deep into games your average will drop as you go on.

I don’t recall him topping out at 88, and certainly not with an extra day’s rest and in the first couple innings.
