Not really. They didn't give up a lot for him. They dealt from a position of strength in LD to pick up a big 21 year old center who was a recent #3 pick. Worthwhile flyer. This is Habs analytics and the Team 33 group at work.
Couldn't care less about team 33 or 66 or 99. Bottom line is Chicago, who's a crappy team gave up on this dude that they drafted a few years back. That's a bad sign man. Shades of griffin reinhart trade (for the 15th oa pick that turned out to be barzal)

Wright is irrelevant. Slafkovsky is the one the Habs picked and Slafkovsky is the one who has a record-low (or near to the record low) league points scored for a top3 pick.
Seems you want to crap on Slafkovsky without giving him a chance to even play his first game. You must be best scout around.

People acting like Wright wouldn't be a gamble if we chose him. lol

All these picks are gambles, this isn't a year where you draft a franchise player.

Remember when everyone was elated over Galchenyuk. Hell, even Leaf fans were praying we didn't take him. Fast forward to today and Toronto wound up with the FAR better player from that draft. Far too many people here are confident management has no idea what they're doing based on... media coverage?

This draft is all over the place. Few interesting players dropping that would be nice to grab.

Damn, we could have had Nazar if we kept the 13th, and then we would have got another couple with the 26th and 33rd. What a haul that would have been. Not sure I like Dach very much, hard to be excited about him.

Geez...you cleaned up on that draft!
I would have had Hughes but I lost the lottery and picked 2nd. McMichael I got the year after because it was his post drafy year that he got to play on the 1st line in the OHL. Boldy was afill in for someone I lost in the waiver draft.
