Not really. They didn't give up a lot for him. They dealt from a position of strength in LD to pick up a big 21 year old center who was a recent #3 pick. Worthwhile flyer. This is Habs analytics and the Team 33 group at work.

Well a mid 2nd is 3 to 4 spots and a mid 3rd something like 1 spot so yeah that s what I d say.

I work in consulting. Strategy stuff, etc. It's hard for me to stomach the risk the Habs took with the 1OA. The downside risk is immense.
And trading the 13OA for Dach isn't a buy-low, as you corrected me... it's quite a price for a guy whose value should've been bottomed out.
The slovak 1oa kid is one time 10 pts player. But at least together, they measure 12 feet 8 inches tall!!

Could see a trade-up with the Pens at 21 for 26 and 62 if there's someone we want - they have no 2nd or 3rd round picks
Wright can struggle as well. There are very few guarantees in the draft.
