Yeah how dare I use my memory of an outrageously stupid take.Either that or he’s in your head from a 4 year old post… either way… yikes

I just can't believe the summer is almost gone.Poor Daemon Hunt, the Thomas Bordeleau of Team Canada. Nothing to do with Covid but injured in training camp again and will miss his second chance to play for Canada at the WJC. Some guys just can't win. Hope all are looking forward to this unusual summer treat.
Maybe I'm being soft, but I feel bad for 2 guys who make the trip to Edmonton, only to get cut and sent home. Did 2 exhibition games reveal so much that this decision couldn't have been made at the end of camp?Frank Nazar and Aidan Hreschuk were the final cuts.
I've been waiting for some optimistic posts in that regard. Still waiting.Scheduling shenanigans aside the biggest question mark is goaltending. Just a huge unknown.
Solely because his sister plays at Princeton, hoping Keopple has a big tournament.Scheduling shenanigans aside the biggest question mark is goaltending. Just a huge unknown.
All three are 2023 eligible. How often does that happen? Seems like an open competition. We'll see who if any rise to the occasion. This is a very good forward and d core though. A lot of skill and toughness. We'll see if that is enough to take pressure off the goaltending.I've been waiting for some optimistic posts in that regard. Still waiting.
Goalies are a strange bunch, no offense. Maybe one will surprise us and rise to the occasion.
There are a bunch of 2002/2003 players available. Wait for the 2023 tournament. Why is Cooley the only '22 pick? Was the '22 draft just awful?
22 draft was really strong for USA. But they're effectively 17 year olds for this tournament and we didn't have a ton of skaters opt out.Why is Cooley the only '22 pick? Was the '22 draft just awful?
You are right, but I think thats too generous to say they are 2023 eligible. They are undrafted players. All three are 2023 eligible. How often does that happen? Seems like an open competition. Not impossible that it changes, but 8th defenseman is what I'd expect.Canadian Canuck fan in peace.
Can anyone give me a report on how Jacob Truscott looks, and where he's most likely to play? I saw one post that had him as the 8th defenseman, but is that really what's expected?
Behrens isn’t a bad PP QB.I'm trying not to give a shit about this joke of a make-up tournament, but the U.S. roster looks like they will mash people into next week, so the games should be heated. This will be a violent and abrasive group, but constructing a lineup loaded with big hitters and sandpaper types could bite them in the ass considering how tight the loser corrupt moron IIHF refs call these WJC games, and how skill on depth lines helped them win golds in the past. And with all due respect to Ian Moore, Hughes is the only pure playmaker on the blue line.
Weird roster. But winning gold on Canadian soil is definitely a possibility, although the road will be tough, even in the QF. They'll cruise to 3-0 before playing the Swedes, who brought a bunch of hard hitters themselves and have Wallstedt in goal.
Not surprised that the dicks at the IIHF (led by a Canadian) set it up so that Team USA plays mostly late 8pm starts, then get to play a rested Sweden to close out group play with their third game in four nights.
USA will have to play one of Slovakia, the Czechs, or Finns in the QF, while Canada (if they win Group A) will open the QF against one of Austria, Germany, or Switzerland.
Pretty sure that Team Canada will be up to any physical challenge.I'm trying not to give a shit about this joke of a make-up tournament, but the U.S. roster looks like they will mash people into next week, so the games should be heated. I was responding to Steve Kournianos @thedraftanalyst who has some interesting takes on things as a "hockey scout"No doubt with all the chest thumping in your thread. You guys must have abs of steel!
