Cuylle-Wright-Bourgault seems like an interesting line. Is Shane Wright a lock for this team? Haven't seen Cuylle on too many mock up rosters, with Wright and Bourgault on most.

Going into the season I would have said he’s a lock, its a little more up in the air but he’s likely still a lock.
He was invited to last years camp and more often than not if you’re eligible the next year after being invited to the selection camp - you’re a lock to make it that time around.

So Vincent Iorio is basically guaranteed a place on Team Canada that's not a sentence I expected to write. Even if Cameron didn't like Clarke, Cuelemans or Benning it just seems like sheer insanity not to even give any of them a chance to earn a place on the team.

Zellwegger, O'Rourke and Cormier all play/have played the right side in the past. Iorio definitely isnt guaranteed anything. If Cameron was worried about right left handedness like Babcock always was with the mens team, they would have brought more righties. Iorio could definitely still make it, but definitely not a guarantee

I think Wrights a lock. Worst case Ontario you bring him as the 4th line center and tell him to play a shut down role. Hes really good defensively. I would expect him to at least go in that role at the absolute worst AND if that happens I expect he works his way up the lineup a bit by the end of the tourney. Hes also got himself up to a 1.36 point per game now after a slow start

when do the "omg player x is playing with player y and player z they are going to dominate" posts start ?

From those camp lines, looks to me like the forwards would be:

Perfetti-McTavish-Guenther
Johnson-Lapierre-Bedard
Cuylle-Wright-Bourgault
Neighbours-Greig-Sourdif

For Thompson, I heard that he was originally told that he needed to quarantine for 10 days by HC. He was set to fly out today a little late to join the team at camp after 4 negative tests but he heard on Wednesday that his quarantine was extended to 14 days so he was uninvited to camp

A 14-day quarantine period for a player who's had 4 negative tests and is (presumably) double-vaxxed? Insane. I'm all for exercising due caution, but it'll be a long time before we move forward as a society with rules like this in place.

Yeah, if he's had 4 negative tests, he's as safe of a person to bring to camp as there can be.

totally agree
He should be allowed to participate

I'm pretty pumped to watch Power play in this tournament. At the worlds I just became more and more comfortable with him on the ice each game, he was smooth, calm and steady, with nice crisp passes and good positioning all the time. The coaches sure caught on too. He was at his best in the big games and probably our most steady guy.

Haha! I read that as you were interested in watching our power-play. It should be a good one, especially if they let Power play!

Really hope they don’t split Neighbours and Guenther up like the lines are in practice. I get they could always put them together later but going
Neighbours - McTavish - Guenther
Perfetti - Wright - x

and run a balanced attack would be a better approach imo

What are the rules + reg's about CHL suspensions carrying over to the World Juniors? Because McTavish could potentially be looking at a suspension for a hit to the head/5 min major/game misconduct at the end of the Petes/67s game last night.
