The post before this about Perfetti answers this issue nicely. A player in his final year of eligibility becomes the go-to guy, which Byfield wasn’t the last two years. In fact, he was still somehow the youngest guy on the team, despite being a returnee. He SHOULD dominate this year, and though there’s a risk he won’t, the plus you get with a strong performance outweighs the negative if he doesn’t perform, in my books.
There were a number of 01's on the roster last year that were not "go to" guys, just as there will be 02's on the roster this year that are not go to guys. You don't become a go to guy just because of age, you become it by having great pedigree combined with experience and age and then performing when given the opportunity in the tournament, IMHO
