I won't argue with you, stark but, in a Best Of 7, do you really believe the U.S. wins?

Canadians were FAR deeper. In a longer series they win.
You're probably right. We'll never know. I'll state the blindingly obvious reminder that the objective is to win the Gold Medal game.

Anyway, water under the bridge. Good luck to TC in this tourney.

That was legit one of the recent programs on TSN Cinque.

TSN 5's programming during yesterday's TC-Sweden exhibition game. Surely now you see why they need 5 channels.

Only way I can see this making any sort of sense is that Cameron is trying to build up Cossa's confidence against a lesser opponent in case he is forced to go back to him later on in the tournament. We all know how these these tourneys can go between the pipes...

Still makes little sense to me. But, I guess more than likely we will get to see Garand on Thursday against Slovakia.

Othmann omission is also a bit startling to me.

We shall see.

Why is anybody surprised that we are using our 2nd goaltender against a team that has not won since 2012????

Garand is our guy, it's Latvia lol
Usually the #1 goalie plays game 1 - that's why we're surprised.

I also wouldnt be surprised if they want to see what Cossa can do with an actual warm up. I've read he looked solid last night and hes coming off a really good mem cup. He hasnt got a chance to play with a warm up yet with this team/staff so it would make sense for Cameron to give him a real look.

Yeah, fair enough.

Hopefully he gets called to action a few times tonight and gets his feet wet. Certainly doesn't hurt having two options in a short tournament who have their confidence to step in and play well for you in a given game.

Regardless, barring a hiccup, I see Garand getting the call the rest of the way after tonight in the group.

Either way, go Cossa go, and I cannot wait for the puck to drop tonight on this tourney for Canada.

It's not unimaginable that Cossa will play vs Latvia and Garand vs Slovakia. Goalie playing better move on as #1. We've seen it time and time again in this tournament.

That's certainly possible, according to Cameron it seems.
