I was one of the few at the game tonight. Sweden played a good second half, and I won't fully blame Cossa. Sweden was throwing everything and some things stuck. But Garand made a couple of noticeably impressive stops.

That top line of Bedard/MacT/Roy will be deadly. But the depth is really solid. Defense was a bit shaky late but they did an excellent job early of forcing Sweden to the boards.

This Canadian team looks great.

I've read a couple spots on twitter that the game was closer than that initial lead suggested. Apparently Swedens D was really good. How did Swedens goalie play? I'm assuming it was Wallstedt in net

Calle Clang was in net for this game

Sweden's D struggled early but seemed to get more comfortable late. Clang was In net, and was the negative difference maker tonight for the Swedes

Just wanted if Dufour played and if so did you notice him at all? Thank you

Thank you for this.

Cossa had one pre tournament game where he went in cold without a warmup and let in one bad goal. Hes a significant upgrade over Brochu and has been playing more recently than the other 2. He was great in the mem cup which is the highest stakes hockey any of the 3 have played.

By all means, start Garand I dont have an issue with that, hes also really good, especially at this level. Pretending that Brochu is a better option is laughable though

I bleieve it started at 5, but that might be out west. I'm gonna try the tsn channels and see if theyre showing it but didnt update their guide online
Look, you can have your own opinion and that's totally fine but Cossa did look beyond awful in those 30' and it was enough for Cameron to demote Cossa to 3rd goalie. Cameron said already they'll approach the goalies the same way as in december so expect Cossa to lose his gig to Brochu all over again should he have yet another bad game.

Cossa was solid at the memorial cup. I'll give you that. For his standarts he was good. However, had he been as "great" as you said, maybe Edmonton could have qualified for the knockout games. Looking back he probably was one of the best if not the best goalie of the tournament. He was certainly more consistent than during the regular season.

Who was the last player did that did, begged to go play from his team when we knew it was pointless, then he broke his wrist or something? I think it was pretty recent, last year or 2?
When we knew it was pointless? WTF are you talking about?! It was his goddamn childhood dream, and it’s quite possible that his absence was the difference in that deciding gold medal game.

I doubt Dach makes any difference in that gold medal game IMO, The U.S was just the better team that year, Canada got handily out played that game.

I said it was possible, not that it was a certainty. We had a lot of shots but no finish in that game. If he is the one taking some of those shots, maybe things turn out differently. Having said that, I do believe the US deserved that win. They had a pretty amazing team.
