QOs to Chmelevski, Ferraro, Gadjovich, Gregor, Kahkonen, Kunin
No QOs to Blichfeld (already gone), Dahlen, Gallant, McGrew, Meloche, Morand, Pasichnuk, Sawchenko
Scoring should be expected from every player. Maybe you can get a pass if you provide great defensive value, but Gadjoviches only value comes in how he can punch people and even then he tends to lose more fights than win.If you think scoring is what is expected from Gadjovich then of course you don’t understand why they are keeping him around.
On the other hand scoring IS what is expected from Chmelevski, Leonard and Weatherby. None of them can score in the NHL.
I thought they might qualify McGrew and Meloche.QOs to Chmelevski, Ferraro, Gadjovich, Gregor, Kahkonen, Kunin

And I said he's not. Gadjovich isn't better. He merely fights. He's not an impact player either. It's just a bias.I never said he doesn’t suck. I said he’s better than Leonard, Weatherby, Reedy and Chmelevski, four guys who aren’t even impact players in the AHL.
PLAYER POS Sasha Chmelevski F Mario Ferraro D Jonah Gadjovich F Noah Gregor F Kaapo Kahkonen G Luke Kunin F
Viel (0.41 PPG in the AHL) can "play hockey" but Gadjovich (0.45 PPG in the AHL including being almost a PPG in his last year in the AHL) can't. All while Viel is 1.5 years older than Gadjovich.Atleast Viel can play hockey. I’m not excited to see what kinda BS lineup we trot out next year.
Feels like a Josh Anderson trade is right around the corner
Disagree on Weatherby. He was brought in and solely utilized as a 4th liner after a good training/development camp got him a contract. Plus, while he's older he just played his first year of pro hockey. I don't think that he should be viewed remotely similar to the other two in terms of role/expectation.If you think scoring is what is expected from Gadjovich then of course you don’t understand why they are keeping him around.

Neither of them can play hockey and should be canned asapViel (0.41 PPG in the AHL) can "play hockey" but Gadjovich (0.45 PPG in the AHL including being almost a PPG in his last year in the AHL) can't. All while Viel is 1.5 years older than Gadjovich.
Okay but those other players also don’t score. At least Gadjovich hits and fights. Would I want him on a playoff roster? No but this is nowhere near a playoff team.Scoring should be expected from every player. Maybe you can get a pass if you provide great defensive value, but Gadjoviches only value comes in how he can punch people and even then he tends to lose more fights than win.
Meloche is surprising. Though wonder if his QO was too high and they'll bring him back at league minimum rather than get a raise. Dahlen deal has already been litigated, but curious if another NHL team takes a shot or if he's destined to be back in the SHL.QOs to Chmelevski, Ferraro, Gadjovich, Gregor, Kahkonen, Kunin

Meloche is actually a surprise, but he wasn't good anyway.I thought they might qualify McGrew and Meloche.
That's a plenty fair take and is different than the one that was quoted by me originally. You just can't say that Viel can play hockey and the other can't based on objective facts.Neither of them can play hockey and should be canned asap
I see more skill in Viel but he hasn't been able to turn that into production. That's a plenty fair take and is different than the one that was quoted by me originally. You just can't say that Viel can play hockey and the other can't based on objective facts.
Well hes 6”5, so I would expect to see him around quite a bit from now onJacob friggin Megna shouldn’t be in the NHL. Since we’re talking about who’s an NHL caliber player and who isn’t one.
The Megna thing is more an issue with how bad the team is that he was even in the lineup to impress people who fall in love with size and physicality too much.Jacob friggin Megna shouldn’t be in the NHL. Since we’re talking about who’s an NHL caliber player and who isn’t one.
He looked good after his call-up, and that's even with some bad puck luck.Chmelevski still has some upside, wouldn't give up on him yet.
And honestly, Meloche did have some speed. Enough to hold his own at the NHL level. Just didn't have the stick play really to succeed even at a depth level. Middleton got better almost exclusively because his stick play improved dramatically. It's something Megna doesn't really have and what Vlasic has lost over the years. He looked good after his call-up, and that's even with some bad puck luck.
Meloche not being qualified is hopefully a sign that Grier isn't some Neanderthal who only cares about size and hitting. He's talked enough about speed that I'm pretty sure that's not the case.

And part of why Braun is still an effective player now at 35.And honestly, Meloche did have some speed. Enough to hold his own at the NHL level.
