Merkley seems like the perfect candidate to be moved by Grier. Based on what I assume Grier wants in his players, Merkley does not fit at all. Grier would take a Douglas Murray over a Merkley everyday of the week and twice on Sunday. I’m curious of the return on a package that included Labanc and Merkley.
Hey look, another half-baked thought. If Merkley is moved, it's because he's not been any good in 2 years of professional hockey in the AHL or NHL rather than some idea that Grier only wants big dudes that can't skate. I'll have no problem calling this crap out here every time someone just assumes that Grier is going to make a roster barren of any skill type players.

If peoples opinions get under your skin this much…Maybe take a break. I’m simply stating that Grier values physicality over finesse based on the players he’s moving on from and the players he’s acquiring/qualifying.

If the choice was Eklund and Merkley or Miller and Guenther I would choose Eklund and Merkley. Mostly because Eklund has a potential Guenther doesn't. Merkley has potential as well to contribute offensively that Miller doesn't. I'd take Miller over Merkley but the package I'd go with Ek and Merk.

I do love that you can somehow state that Leonard and Weatherby stink, Reedy and Chm are not NHL players while defending the qualifying of Jonah f***ing Gadjovich in the same thread. It's almost as if...no it can't be....can it? Make shit up to fit whatever viewpoint you want at a specific time.
It’s almost as if Gadjovich is better than those players and brings an element the others do not.

I've heard a lot of bad takes, but this one is up there

Gadjovich is one of the least useful players I've ever seen. He provides nothing except punching faces, which does nothing for a team anymore because this isn't the 80s. You have to be able to play hockey.

I would hope not. We need MORE guys like Merkley, not less imo

I never said he doesn’t suck. I said he’s better than Leonard, Weatherby, Reedy and Chmelevski, four guys who aren’t even impact players in the AHL.
Nevermind that all four of them have outscored Gadjovich at the NHL level, they've also outscored him at the AHL level as well.

If you think scoring is what is expected from Gadjovich then of course you don’t understand why they are keeping him around.

On the other hand scoring IS what is expected from Chmelevski, Leonard and Weatherby. None of them can score in the NHL.
