This is the reason why he would need exceptional status to be drafted in 2022
It is hard for him to get exceptional status.
Q league has only Joe Veleno been granted and he was not successful as others in OHL.

Yeh, I think there hasn't been a better case for it in a while. January born as well. Very special player so far.

I could have seen the case for Luneau who was basically a #1D in Midget AAA at 14, and looks like he has been a #1D for Gatineau at 16 as well in the Q. But other than that... Morin checks a lot of boxes. He is physically ready as well which helps his case.

The only knock I have seen on Morin's game is that it has been easy to get him to lose focus by pestering him. Teams know enough to have their players chirp him non stop to reduce his effectiveness. When and if he matures enough to overcome that, look out. (Haven't seen him play since a summer tournament in 2020, he may have already improved in that area)

Wilds have 12 players from 2006 born year.
5 Forward
Issac Arsenault
Ethan Dickson
Easton Fitzpatrick
Colby Hudson
Dawson Sharkey
5 Defense man
Logan Gregory
Shamus MacEachern
Jack MacKinnon
Justin Smith
Cam Taylor
2 Goalie
George Gallant
Cole Echlin

He gets thrown off his game still, but that does not worry me much.

Solid looking roster, they should be very competitive in the NB-PEI league as well as the Ice Jam /Monctonian.
Campbell/Nicholson dominated U15 on the Island last season, how are they looking so far at the U18 level?
Knights lose to flyers 2:3 in season opener.
Campbell and Waugh are looking good in the first U18 game.

Anyone see Puck Preps top 50 rankings? Any surprises for anyone? Omissions, inclusions or rankings ?

D: Lanthier and Veilleux not there which is very strange cause they could be serious top ten contenders, the rest I don’t really agree with the rankings.
F: ranking very strange looks like it’s based on bantam year, poirier, beaudoin, shields and lacerte should be higher.
G: clearly missing daigle, potentially beaunoyer and lamarche

D'Aigle is going in the first round no doubt in my mind.

Lanthier and Veilleux are also clear cut top 2 round guys, with first round upside.

I can't see the list, but I hope Desruisseaux is high.

It’s interesting how low they value the maritime kids, but it’s early and there have been no events really that have all the kids together.

Shields, Waugh and smith are the only three maritime kids in the first round.

I don't think those are the 3 best maritime players, at all. Waugh and Smith are likely players from rounds 2 to 4 in my opinion.

I do not think this is the strongest year for maritimes, especially at the top of the draft, but they will have a lot of players in rounds 2 through 4 this year.

Shields and Phillips are in my top 5, and I have Kennedy somewhere in my first round. Starting to feel like Gill is a first round player as well. There are quite a few other maritimers in my 2nd round taht could challenge for a first round spot.

Only early but from what I’ve watched in the U18 maritime Leagues I like these guys.
NS
Kennedy
Peitsche
Miller

NB
Arsenault
Gill
Richard

PEI
Campbell
Griffin
Waugh

Some guys having issues adjusting from bantam but will come with time.

Since I retired from scouting i still help a team out with some work...I know the lists i get (I have not been to Quebec yet to see anyone) have these guys as A prospects

A:

Eliot L'Italien--F--SSF
Marek Beaudoin--F--St Hyacine
Julien Lanthier--D--Vikings
Felix Lacerte--F--Trois Riv
Gabriel D'Aigle--G--St Hyacine
Adam Fortier-Gendron--D--Phenix
William Dumais--F--Trois Riv
Alexis Michard--F--SSF
Maxime Masse--F--Notre Dame
Vincent Murray--D--Gatineau
Xavier Veilleux--D--SSF
Justin Carbonneau--F--Levis
Justin Poirier--F--Chatenguay
Sacha Boisvert--F--Mount St Charles 15U
Mattias Gilbert--D--St Hyacine
Jeremy Leroux--F--Stanstead

a lot of the Quebec scouts are really out of sorts this year...where no one was able to play bantam last year (U15)...players are falling and others are rising as no one really has an idea of where these players are....still early in the year just wait till some guys get their feet and wits to get back into game shape....also scouting in the QMJHL does not really mean much till November that is when the scouts really start paying attention...so this list i put up I just want you to know is not mine...it was a collective effort in quebec by scouts i know
