Last year, since the outdoor game, we were horrible in the regular season.
Yeah, and you know, the Russian thing coupled with a Russian Colonel having a direct relationship to a player and the players having a Ukrainian agent to whom they all like...

100% played into that; don't @ me

I remember that also Dan Milstein asked for a major security for them.
It was for sure a factor.

Come on guys, can't believe what debbie downers some of you are, imagine this board during the dark days at the end of the 90's

We have a team that will be cup contenders for many years to come. Sure, we are not cup favourites like in the years when we won, but we have a team that is good enough to make several deep runs.

Try to enjoy this era a bit more, won't know if we ever will experience something like this again!

We went from overwhelming favorites, to one of the top contenders, to probably just contender. Just gotta keep punching tickets to the postseason and see what happens. Maybe the matchups break our way again.

Are we able to accrue space this year? What are the chances we could buy at the TDL?

Not unless we move Seabrook's contract I think. As it is we still need to use his LTIR. I could be wrong but I think that's how it works, unless the juggling we have to do while the other guys are out helps accrue space?

Yeah, I mean this was fait accompli. The idea is to remain contenders for as along as possible like the penguins, and not crash and burn like the capitals.

Really just hope some late draft picks can surprise and also make some FA splashes.

Some of you all are acting like it’s 2000 and we’re the red wings with these expectations.

Some of us don't need to imagine.

My cheat sheet

Long Term Injured Reserve (LTIR) - High Level Overview

  • To qualify for LTIR, a player must be expected to miss at least 10 NHL Games AND 24 days of the NHL season
  • When a player is on LTIR, a team may exceed the salary cap. Despite the common misconception, LTIR does not remove a Cap Hit from a team’s overall Cap Hit, it just potentially allows the team to exceed the salary cap.
  • The amount that a team may exceed the salary cap due to LTIR is commonly referred to as the “LTIR Pool”
  • If a team is cap compliant on opening day without using LTIR, or uses LTIR at any point during the season, the LTIR Pool is the Cap Hit of the LTIR player less the team’s cap space when the player goes on LTIR. For example, if a player with a $4M Cap Hit goes on LTIR when the team has $100K of Cap Space, the LTIR pool is $3.9M ($4M-$0.1M). Because of this, team’s often make several roster moves right before a player goes on LTIR in order to be as close to the cap as possible, in order to maximize the LTIR Pool
  • If a team cannot be cap compliant on opening day without using LTIR, the LTIR Pool is the amount the team exceeds the Cap. For example, if a team is $3M over the Cap and places a player on LTIR with a $4M Cap Hit for the opening roster submission, the LTIR Pool is the $3M that the team exceeded the cap
  • While on LTIR, Cap Space is no longer accrued, meaning any portion of the LTIR pool not used cannot be used later.
  • When a player comes off LTIR, the team’s annual cap hit for that day must be under the Cap [\quote]

Everything is going to be alright. The boys were beat up and it showed. Now they are healthy and PO'd.

Go Bolts!!!!
I think the question is whether or not we are good enough to not depend so totally on defense and shot blocking. It's hard to imagine not being just as beat up next year playing that style.

I think Point being out forced them to be more defensive.

Eh we barely have any f***ing draft picks to trade anyway. I would like to get out of that Seabrook contract - don't know why we didn't send a 5th or something to Arizona to take it. Unless - and I think there's a chance of this - insurance may not be covering much of this contract.

Doesn’t he have a modified no trade clause, making him tradeable to the right team.

I would like to get out of thst contract if possible.
