Lou is going to go overboard. He's getting old, and the Isles are in win-now mode. I wouldn't be surprised if he offered Gaudreau $11.5 million per year -- he can easily trade Beauvillier and still make the cap work next year and the year after.
Sure he could, but they still have to sign Dobson, Romanov and Bellows. It’s not as easy as it looks.

These flyers signings are awful add ons to already awful contracts like Risto but its starting to look like a Torts team and his style can mask the flaws of players like Risto and co. Flyers are gonna be fine. Mediocore, but fine.

He's like that first guy a mom starts dating after her divorce.

I have a funny feeling Lou goes nuts . Was he GM when they “lost out “ on Panarin ?
I can see him be the old grumpy bastard that would not back off Johnny because he lost out before and won’t let it happen again …
Piss off already Lou . Gaudreau and his wife don’t want to drive 2-4 hours through that shit to get back home .
I want to throat punch Lou right now

I'm getting worried that Lou is going full senile mode. At his age & wanting to win now I can picture him offering something absurd. Realistically this is his last chance to ice a playoff team. Dude is like 1000 years old. At this point if I'm Fitz I'm working the phone with Calgary about a Tkachuk trade as a backup plan.

After a couple hours out on the lake, was really hoping to see a new thread or two here when i came back. Burakovsky’s gone, Marchment’s gone, is it really Gaudreau or bust?

Yes but I still find it hard to believe the same Lou who loses most of his own free agents is going to be the one to nut punch us now.

Lou is beyond a clown at this point.

The fact that he's even a GM going into his 80th birthday is just stupid. And not because of his his age, but because he's been a horrible GM for the better part of about 15 years now.

He's far beyond the phase where a really old player is heckled for continuing to play into their 40's, but because you don't need the greatest of bodies to be a front office executive like if a player wanted to play until he was 45-50, he stays around far past the wash up stage of a player.

Moving Beavilier clears up 4 mil which puts them at 16 mil of space. With Bellows, Dobson and Romanov to sign that’s still not a lot of space to add gaudreau at 10-11 mil.
Lou will do what it takes if he has his mind set on a goal . He is the original gangster when it comes to pimping off assets to dump players .
What the hell was the name of the defenceman we traded by adding a pick … I can’t remember … started with a Z didn’t it ?

Never mind - edit - Malakov

Just a reminder to everyone not to jump off bridges if Gaudreau signs with the Islanders.

Tkachuk is reportedly unhappy with the situation in Calgary and could want out. Tarasenko is likely to be traded. And Niederreiter and Palat would be great signings in NJ. The Devils have an amazing talent core and the future success certainly does not hinge on whether or not Johnny Gaudreau decides he wants to play hockey in New Jersey.

Yes thanks for the logical thinking lol . I agree but it’s hard to not be excited and let down IF Gaudreau signs with the Islanders . Eat shit Lou
